as a halo speedrunner, I approve of this video Another cool glitch that didn't make the video is the video is the Arbitrary Unit Possession glitch or AUP for short. It allows you to take control of any character in the game by doing an intricate series of events and meeting certain prerequisites, great video nonetheless

I'm glad you liked it! I was almost considering adding that glitch to the video and honestly I should've because of how interesting it is, but I was taking too long to release this as it is and didn't think I'd have the time without taking longer on the video :p

It’s funny just how broken Halo 2 is. It’s crazy seeing all the glitches people are able to use for speed running and to dominate in multiplayer. I think the most interesting thing about Halo 2’s development is how they spent so much time working on the e3 demo and an engine that they KNEW well in advance would not be able to run on the original Xbox, and that they’d need to scrap it. It was also supposed to be a tactical cover shooter for a good chunk of development before they switched it back to playing more like CE. That would definitely explain why the enemies aren’t as mobile as they were in CE, why they’ll get stuck firing at your last known position allowing you to flank them (this is probably a leftover from having enemies try to keep you pinned down in cover), why you’re so weak (in tactical shooters it’s slower paced and you’re far weaker). While we’re on the topic of tactical shooters I’m going to say that ODST is one of my favorite Halos because I really liked how in terms of storytelling and presentation it did a great job of making you feel like a normal human in a war where you’re woefully outmatched. Unfortunately, in terms of gameplay it falls flat when it comes to making you feel like a normal human. It was basically just diet Halo 3 where you could do all the same stuff Chief can, just worse. It really should’ve been a tactical shooter where you could lean around cover (in a Halo 3 beta build Bungie were testing out a leaning feature that never made it into the game). The game should’ve had a heavy emphasis on stealth allowing you to sneak past enemies or pick them off one by one (silenced weapons weren’t actually quiet. They made medium noise, which still alerted enemies). They didn’t do nearly enough to buff the lesser Covenant (Drones, Jackals, and Grunts) to make them feel like your equals/close lessers where they became a credible threat on the battlefield. We also should’ve been fighting Elites for like the first half/two thirds of the game. Then the Brutes would appear in the last chunk and at night as a way to change up the gameplay by adding more enemy variety. Since the Brutes and Elites would both be around we’d be able to see the Great Schism from the perspective of normal humans. The story wouldn’t have to change that much. Just have your squad use the ensuing chaos as the perfect opportunity to collect Virgil and escape the city. My ideal Halo would be a remake of ODST that addressed these various issues. Thankfully mods can fix these problems. I saw your CE video and really liked it. It will be interesting to see you talk about the other games. When those are done you could talk about other games like Half Life.

Halo 2 is legit full of them, this is around half that are in the game (a handful arent that interesting to be honest but still). Looking at the old e3 demo makes me wish bungie was ever able to release a halo game at the scope they were envisioning it with back then, they never really got close to a release of that scale during their time with the series. And I like your idea for ODST! I wish they went that route as well though I'm sure it was just a matter of the time they had available to them, the idea of completely changing the gameplay for ODST probably wasn't feasible for them at the time, just makes you wish 343 had the guts to try it through. I'm glad you liked my first video! After I complete my video on Halo 2 I'll have a slight detour in content and talk about another game (Portal) before I move back onto Halo 3, I've got a long list of older titles that I'm very eager to dive into and Half Life is definitely one of them as well!

Missed the chance to cover a really cool glitch that allows you to respawn as other characters (ie respawning as a grunt) it happens in coop if you die at the moment an enemy spawns in

I was unable to play halo because, broke af. XD My parents always bought PC games because they were cheap and i couldnt exactly ruin a PC easily. 😂 I was hard on literally anything I owned for some reason. 😂
