Awesome that you managed an brown with such rough conditions. I had no clue there were so many trees in the water. Super sad, but I guess it will provide good habitat for the fish. Awesome to hear that you finally got a full day to actually experience sun. Thanks so much for these instructional videos. Hope you go back and get that special rainbow🎣👍🎣👍

That brown was pretty good tasting. I can only guess that the reason for there being so many trees on the bottom in that back end of the bay is from either a catastrophic event like a landslide or avalanche. It could have also been something like the logging industry way back when caused them to be there. Who knows. All I know is that they are there now so I'll be fishing down the shore a way where there are less of those trees to get hung up on.

Hello Amani thanks for taking us along exploring new areas, now I will know not to baitfish that area 😂😂, I hate losing my set ups, nice brown though👊🎣👍

There seems to be a lot of submerged trees in the bay in general. At least towards the back.

Nice fish man!! Caught a 22 inch rainbow off Nevada Beach in April this year right after i moved up. What a welcome from the fish of lake Tahoe. Really sucks they don't allow dogs down there in emerald Bay i want to fish it but i hate leaving my wolfdog at home. Bout to get him a service dog cert so they can duck off he's a good boy.

Nice. That's one spot I haven't tried yet. I think this Winter I will try to hit some beaches.

I’ve hiked down from inspiration just straight scramble to get to the other side in the shade on an early morning. Suuuuuper deep water rubicon trail will get you there from eagle point. But definitely worth a shot. No pressure on the fish at all and the water stays in the shade. Just moved out the basin but your videos bring back good memories of going out every morning. East side of fallen leaf the lohatans are probably getting big

Right on. I've only fished Fallen Leaf once. I got a Mack from shore. If you watch the video I went during the Covid lockdown where they were threatening a $1000 fine for non essential travel in the Tahoe area. That's why, like in all of the videos I shot during the lockdowns, I made it clear at the beginning of the video I was there for the essential task of acquiring food. I might have needed it for court!

I fished that shoreline for 65 years,.,. you take the trail around the point to the west towards DL Bliss campground and Rubicon Point,,,, you'll find some terrific waters

Right on. 65 years is a good run. Probably got a lot of awesome memories and terrific fish. I fished DL bliss once and got a Mackinaw. It was really deep where I went down. Hard to climb into fishing position where I went in. That clip is on my Lake Tahoe shore fishing playlist.

At times (summer season), EB water can be super turbulent from constant boat traffic in and out. A nice view of scenic sea/landscapes.

@wildernesswithamani1027 11 ай бұрын
I can only imagine that there is a lot of activity down there when it warms up and the campgrounds open. I've never fished down there during the summer. I plan to start fishing down there as soon as the snow situation around Tahoe stabilizes and the roads clear a bit. This last storm was brutal.

Yeah man I camped there in August and it was the windiest I’ve ever seen it. But camped there a few years ago and glass. I’m jealous of that brown! I’ve sure caught some bows in there on PB worms. You throw those, or the putty bait?

I use the putty stuff. I have clips on my fishing tips playlist that show my general set up and all of the tackle I use for most of my videos.

I cast so far out I don't think I could get the Chirp out there. Anyway, I go to Tahoe to chill and when that wind is blowing that little sonar ball would need to be repositioned constantly. That's one of the reasons I don't fish with slip bobbers out there. I really want to try the Deeper Chirp when I'm ice fishing. I only started ice fishing last year but not knowing if anything was below me was frustrating. It's the one instance where fishing blind was no good for me. All of the experienced ice fishermen out there had electronics and it's clear to me why. Super stable situation where I can just sit and look at it.

@wildernesswithamani1027
@wildernesswithamani1027 Жыл бұрын
The hike seems short until you are hiking back uphill with a cooler of ice! It's great down there this time of year because there are very few people around. I can only imagine that place being a human zoo with the gigantic campgrounds open during the late Spring/Summer/early Fall on both sides of Emerald Bay.

The current tree mortality happening right now will surely add to all the sticks and logs in the mountain lakes 😢. So many more dead pine trees than last year. It’s concerning.
@wildernesswithamani1027
@wildernesswithamani1027 Жыл бұрын
These trees have been there for a really long time. This looked to me like some large natural phenomenon like a landslide or avalanche deposited them there. It also could have been left over from logging activity from way back when that was going on in the area. Of course, I am just guessing. This is just my personal experience. I haven't had any issues with fallen trees in backcountry lakes and I fish dozens of them. I have several dozen clips on my backcountry fishing playlist just from the recent years I have had my channel and I've fished many dozen more over the decades. Lakes like Laurel lake in Yosemite where there is heavy timber to the waters edge will have a lot of fallen trees submerged in them. Other lakes will have a lot of submerged trees in back corners where they settled over many years. Nothing is even close to floating or looking recent. There will be submerged trees in alpine lakes but I'm not seeing anything obviously new. It all seems really old. again, just my personal experience.

Why are you screaming?
@wildernesswithamani1027
@wildernesswithamani1027 Жыл бұрын
I always scream. It's how I roll. My channel might not be for you. In the hundreds of videos across my channel playlists I don't use an external mic for specific reasons with my camera so between making sure I can be heard and my naturally loud voice the end result seems to be screaming. Probably not changing anytime soon.

The wind was really strong and then it would die. I had decent cover from the rocks to the right. It was fairly windy far more than it was calm but it was still great just sitting and chilling out there.
