Palomino is a village in the Caribbean region of Colombia. It is a popular destination for foreign backpackers, as well as Colombians looking for a more tranquil beach destination than Santa Marta.
It has a hippy vibe, with many dread locked locals selling artisan jewellery, sweets and foods. Today I went for a walk, met some locals and showed how the beach erosion is hurting the local economy.

Nice Video. Actually i was there about 9 months ago for several months during the pandemic, until things relaxed again, and there was a lot more beach then. I was blown away by how much the beach has gone. Palomino now is basically just a Tourist backpacker hippie town with some nice nature trekking trails and a nice river. Looks like the beach is gone unless the sea ends up retreating again. Chilled nice place none the less, just minus the beach...which really is s great pity cos it was nice to walk along, etc.

Hi Tony, great video of Palomino, but unlike you say the beach was not 20 or 30 meters out, more like 40 to 60 meters just 3 years ago. Having said that Palomino is still special but it was once a magical place when nobody new about it and there was next to nothings there, and that was just some 6 years ago..............Anyhow, still lots to love about it:))

One of my favourites of yours so far. Looks like a chill place, and follows the standard formula one can find all over the world where young people go to congregate, party and live cheaply. Enjoy it when you engage with the locals.

Hi, about the hightest Mountain near to the Ocean, you're completely RIGHT!! Is the Hightest Peak near to caribbean Ocean, it is 40 km straight from 5600 meter to the sea, tropical sea. I mean, meanwhile you're looking the tropical fisches aroun you, if you look up , you'll see snow peaks... PALOMINO IS COMPLETELY AMAZING. Thanks for the video.

Hey Tony, great Video! Thanks for visiting my country. The tourism helps to maintain the economy in that place. I'm from Bogota but I was there 1 month ago and I fall in love with that place. The multicultural environment, the beach and landscapes are amazing! I want to come back and stay more days.

that’s is a really cool sleepy beach town ,a gem where you can find a nice mujer and peace ! And a few parceros…que chimba! By the way the girls at the 17:40 mark asked you where are you going and then what are you doing here…. She said que mas is like what’s up Then I think para llevar ..means something about going ..then que está haciendo what are you doing ,I can read Spanish great my wife is brasillian so Portuguese as well but when’s it’s fast and slang it’s hard but Colombian Spanish is not very hard, learn how to pronounce the vowels each one only has 1 sound unlike in English then learn 10 verbs and pick up a lot of nouns you will fast be on your way . . Buenos noches
