The beaches in North Carolina are the best! There are some real gems along the coast, some have wild horses. I lived in Virginia for about 20 years and miss those beaches! 😍

I lived in North Carolina for 8 years and try to visit once a year. It’s just something about the Atlantic Coast. Which beach is your favorite on the coast?

@@MrSTravelQuest I have a lot of memories on the Outer Banks, it's so peaceful there. I camped at Cape Hatteras once and that was the best camping trip. We fished, didn't catch anything, and ended up going to a mom and pop place where they sold fresh fish and ended up grilling it up lol. If I had to pick my favorite beach, it would probably be Corolla or Carova, as they have wild horses. Absolutely breathtaking. Carova is only accessible by ferry or a four-wheel drive vehicle, it's more remote.

@@Iris-gy2mi We go to North Carolina every summer to visit family. I lived there for 8 years and never took advantage of all the great beaches/state parks they have. Grilling some fresh fish is the best! I know love eating some red snapper or salmon. Nothing beats eating fresh seafood. Thanks for sharing these spots, I’ll check them out next summer when we revisit North Carolina.

@@MrSTravelQuest I could literally go on and on about North Carolina and places to visit there. Some places that really stick out to me are Manteo (small town vibe with shops along the waterfront and they have boat tours, lots of history there), the lighthouses of Outer Banks (one time after graduating college, my family and I drove to a few of the lighthouses and took pictures in front of each one), Cape Hatteras lighthouse you have to pay to climb to the top, but it's so worth it. Many years ago I think in the late 90s, the Wright Brothers Memorial had helicopter rides that flew you along the shore line. It was absolutely stunning. Last I checked I think around 2010, they no longer provided helicopter rides. But if you Google helicopter rides in outer banks, it is now done through a private company. Duck, NC is cute too, very quaint with shops and restaurants along the waterfront. I have family in Virginia and hope to visit this coming year. Also random, there are a couple movies filmed in the Outer Banks..."Message in a Bottle" and "Nights in Rodanthe." I'm missing the east coast after this conversation. 🙂

@@Iris-gy2mi That sounds amazing! I need to make a video on the best light house in North Carolina. I never been to one and would be a neat experience. I love visiting small and quirky towns. I only been to the larger cities like Asheville, Charlotte, Raleigh Durum and Wilmington. I’ve been to some port towns,l. The helicopter tours sounds amazing and it would be a site to see. I had a drone and I know it’s not the same as flying in a helicopter, but the airspace was restricted 🚫 🤦‍♂️. I’ll definitely look into the helicopter tours and visiting the lighthouses. When’s the best time to go? When we visit during the summer it’s always 🌧. I miss the east coast for time to time, that’s why I visit in the summer 😁

Like & subscribed. Thx. Saw a show on pbs this evening about the segregation ect back in the day. Like canoe camping and catching/cooking primitive style. Right on the coals if fires are allowed. Going to look into a fall trip. Thx.

It’s a beautiful beach and the boat ride there amazing. Hammocks Beach has so much history from pirates, civil war and segregation. Worth checking out if you visit Eastern North Carolina.

Thank you!! You are an excellent narrator and you did a great job explaining everything so thoroughly! I am a wildlife photographer new to the area and can’t wait to explore. We have kayaks so we were hoping to kayak to then neighboring islands there. Thanks again for such an informative video. I can’t wait to check it out soon! I specifically love bird in flight photography so I hope I see some Osprey and herons. Do you see dolphin too? Thanks!

Thank you so much for your kind words. What camera and lens do you use? This area great for wildlife photography. We didn’t see any Dolphins on our trip to Near Island, but I think you have a better chance on Kayak. We’re heading back to the NC area this summer to visit some other great parks. Safe travels and happy hiking!

@@MrSTravelQuest my travel lens is my 100-400mm L lens. It would be best for kayaking and light weight. My 600mm lens is my big boy and it’s pretty heavy. Great quality but it’s not light at all and hard to move quickly with. If you don’t have to travel a long way, or from the shore or in the woods, the 600mm is awesome. Thanks and safe travels this summer!!

@@MrGflan Those are some serious lens. My go to lens is the Sigma 18-35 1.8 lens and use a gimbal for stabilization. I have a few canon wide angles lens and only one zoom lens. You will get plenty of opportunities to see birds in action. One of the big highlights are the sea turtles. If your lucky you might see some Dolphins 🐬. The trails are nice and short at this park too.
