As a parent who's recently started watching because I have a young teen who is interested in the craft and I wanted to learn and understand what she is interested in, this was really beautiful.
@Jess-xl1wd4 жыл бұрын
Can I please add, how incredibly beautiful it is, that as a parent you are watching quality videos (here) and trying to understand for your teen. Thank you. You are part of the solution that this world needs to change. I had a parent that is opposite. And it has always been toxic to me growing up, and even now as an early 30s mama myself. You are amazing, sorry for the long comment. I was just super touched by your comment. ❤❤❤❤
@corriemcclain79604 жыл бұрын
@@Jess-xl1wd Thank you. Your comment was touching not long. I think what the world really needs right now is more understanding and compassion and I try to add and model that in my own small way. I really enjoy learning and I have found Olivia's videos to be high quality and quite helpful. I also want to help my daughter in her path and help keep her safe (we live in a highly conservative religious small town and I can see Marshall's story about school happening here) So hopefully it's not rude that I'm like lets work in kitchen magick and start a garden and get some rocks and leave hexes alone because she's 12 and I think there are some things a 12 year old has no business messing with.
@Jess-xl1wd4 жыл бұрын
I completely agree. And I love your approach as far as kitchen magic and doing a garden ❤️ my son is 7 (almost) and I just really teach him the morals of things. If he becomes interested in the craft later I would love to help him learn his own path. But right now, all I really do is lead by example. For instance, there was a homeless gentleman with a sign off the road asking for $ and food. I typically give a couple dollars. To me, it's not my business what they buy with it. What I get out of giving it is way more important. Just giving compassion to another with zero expectation of receiving anything from them. I always get a smile. And most of all, I'm teaching my kiddo what it is to give without getting in return. But this time in particular, I bought my son, the other gentleman and myself all meals at the nearby restaurant to go. Grabbed a couple extra masks, and we went to the sidewalk, to sit (at a distance of course) and have a meal together. That the best thing we can do to help someone who is less fortunate is to talk to them. Have a conversation. Let them know that you care about them. Even if you don't know them. Ask them how their day is. What they like to do for fun, all while we shared our meal. We laughed, cried. And just chatted. This gentleman lit up! And as we parted, he said thank you. Thank you for treating him like a human instead of trash like most do. He said especially with the virus, living on the streets and having no where to go is even harder when no one will even talk to him anymore. That because his clothes are dirty he must have the virus.💔 I also bought him 3 bus tickets to get back to his family for the holidays. It is a day my son and I will draw strength from for many years. Sorry about the novel I wrote. ❤️ Just trying to give an example of how I try to integrate the love and kindness into our days and try to spread love. I have said that I believe that if you show love, it will come back to you 3 fold. ❤️❤️❤️ And same thing for spreading negative energy. Hope you and your family are staying healthy.

Thank you SO MUCH for mentioning the history of hexing in hoodoo - I've heard so many people talk disdainfully about this practice or take a holier than thou condescending approach to it because of the numerous hexing and curses hoodoo has produced for us. Many of these people come from Wicca-based practices or European lineage and act if theyre morally and spiritually superior for not practicing "baneful" magic. However its a real privilege that you've never had to or you arent hindered by oppressive systems like slavery or white supremacy. I so love that you talked about that ! Thank you.

My first introduction to both of you. Very much enjoyed your discussion. Some VERY good content here. Also just scanned the comments and didn't see anyone mention this, if they did and I missed it my apologies, but as you were discussing the Horned God, and the male aspect of witchcraft, I noticed the lines of his room, the angle of the camera on his altar, the woodwork detail around his ceiling looked like horns were coming out of his head. The aesthetic with his hair is strikingly beautiful. Anyway keep up the great work both of you!

I confess, this is the first time I've sat through an interview like this and watched it start to finish, mainly because I used to find them rather boring. But these two individuals are 2 witches whom I greatly admire and believe and trust in their words. Sitting and listening to this has been a treat and it sorta makes me wanna continue watching interviews like this in the future now because this was so pleasant and inclusive and easy to understand. I've been more motivated to try my own magic out because of these two than any other point in my life, so giving them the time and listening to them here is the least a silly little fan like me could do. Well done the both of you for being so inspiring by just being yourselves :)

I love, LOVE your videos! I am an "old/young" witch (52 yrs, 3yrs in practice). I am still in the broom closet and likely to stay there for financial and personal reasons, but listening to this conversation helps me to form the statements in my head about my practice, my beliefs, and my feelings. It was so cool that I was searching mellow Christmas music on KZbin when I saw Marshall's picture, and was like, "Whoa! Let's check THAT out!", and you came on stylizing on "White Christmas"! And you have a beautiful voice, Dear! Thank you both so much!!

wow Olivia thank you so much for the "other things you can do if you don't hex", there are so many witches these days hexing and cursing, and it almost got me feeling like it was wrong/cowardish to not want to hex (I believe that karma/the universe will restore balance and give back what you put out there, be it good or bad, and it doesn't feel right for me to influence that), and hearing these suggestions and other options made me feel very included again, thank you so much for that!!!
