Exploring PIK 2 Jakarta - First time trying Boba & Pumpkin Pao

The time has finally come! I am visiting the capital of Indonesia - JAKARTA. This has been on my bucket list for such a long time and finally I made it reality. Check out this video to see what my first impressions of PIK 2 are and if I liked these dishes.

I have never tried durian. I’ve smelled it from a vehicle as we drove by it in Bali and because of the smell, I would never eat it. I’ve seen Durian stores in Kuala Lumpur with a variety of products but couldn’t get past the memory of the smell. I’m glad you girls liked the drink, it gives me hope on trying it in the future.

Hi, i love watching your videos. Just wanna say that i happen to live nearby PIK, and that place you went with the Pancoran, is called “golf island” actually. Many people have mistaken it with PIK2, which is actually still quite a long way to go from Golf Island. You will have to take another bridge to get to PIK2, n there’s barely anything there but a beach which is still closed

There is Javanese group in Suriname that surely has link with Javanese culture here in Indonesia as their ancestors were from Indonesia . That's how we share the culture, food and language including how we cook ground peanut in Satay was almost similar with the food that you just had at PIK.

might be weird because of the combination of fragrant fruit, some drinks in Indonesia put jackfruit, citrus then melon together in one drink some herbs too, which becomes a weird smell like some chemical to clean porcelain or stuff, at least for foreigners is so new.

Durian Kopyor is mix durian and coconut ( but not common coconut). This coconut have different meat texture, that's why you feel kind weird. Actually it is rare coconut species and I think only Indonesia having it.

Should try kopyor with bit of sugar. It is strain of coconut. Difference with common coconut, the white flesh of kopyor naturally break loose from the shell and it is oilly. While you are in Indonesia, try it. 👍👍👍👍

Hello, actually PIK "chinatown" has another "Bigger" Area just beside this area, it's called PIK Pantjoran, you have to go out from this area to access the other area, also across the road there's another area called "Urban Farm", then there's another area called "Batavia PIK" sea sidewalk, also a beach called "Pantai Pasir Putih (White Sand Beach), there's a lot of places to explore just in PIK because it's very huge, well just hit me up if you wanna ask someplace to go in Jakarta. Cheers.

Kopyor, is not a chemical, it is a coconut, but somehow naturally the Coco meat and the fat inside doesn't form properly, (we can call it broken) so the texture is flakey and the taste is changed more creamy. It is become a special kind of coconut, difficult to get, and the price could be 5 to 10 times than normal coconut

Just Try to go to Bandung. You can hang out at the hype place at Downtown, such as Paris Van Java, Gedung Sate, Braga etc. You can also try go to Farm House, Great Asia Africa, Orchid Forest and Chill for Enjoying Sunset at Panoramic Coffee (Lembang Trip). And if you have some more time, you can go to Kawah Putih, Glamping Rancabali, and Relaxing Your Body at Sari Ater Hot Spring (Ciwidey Trip).

Try going OUT from PIK 2 area. Jakarta is much MUUCH larger than just PIK 2 area. You can try visiting the "Monas (National Monument) Park", "Museum Gajah" or the National Museum, "Kota Tua" or the Old Town, and "DUFAN (Dunia Fantasi / Fantasy World) theme park" in Ancol area, North Jakarta. As for the mall, you can visit one of the LARGEST MALL in Southeast Asia named "Grand Indonesia Mall", so ready your wallet for the mall visit.

If you want go to Padang Sumatera Barat and you must try the black Rendang that best rendang in Padang city. Place in central market (Pasar Raya Padang) ask to your guide or hotel reseption. Restoran selamat or Rumah makan Selamat. And in area central market so many street food you can try. And thank you for you vlog explore indonesian culture,foods,beutty place all around Indonesia. Suriname had a lot of people from Javanese ( people from Java island, Indonesia) that's why there are similarities tasted between Suriname's food and Indonesian's food, I think.

For your information there are more than 100 varieties of durian. In some areas such as in South Sumatera they eat it with rice. Maybe the sweetness of the fruit that gets you. There are big as well as small ones with different tastes. The kopyor is processed coconut meat, it may be fermented or mutated coconut fruit meat. It is an acquired taste a bit bland but depends on with what you mixed it, syrup in your case durian which you don't like. Admitted is an acquired taste also, I started to like when its to late i.e. effects your colleterol level maybe due its sweetness.

There are a lot of Indonesian in Suriname. We eat chicken satay with peanut sauce . However the peanut paste in the bao you eat has sugar granules in it. Probably they put some salt in it so it’s savory and sweet at the same time . Kopyor has a unusual texture, I personally don’t quite like it.
