Exploring Renninger's Antique Extravaganza! | Windmills, Stained Glass & Rare Store Displays

Join me and explore two more sections of the giant Renninger's Antique Extravaganza! This show at Mount Dora, Florida was great for selling, and in part 2, I’m out looking to buy stuff from the other thousand or so dealers selling at this show.
There’s tons of antique, vintage and flea market finds here, and you’ll get to see a bunch of great stuff! It’s so big that part 2 covers just the south part of the flat section and one pavilion…we’ll come back and film more here in January, it’s just unbelievably vast.
In this episode, I pick up a cool Brady Bunch colored yard windmill, compare American stained glass to English, find an 1852 Swedish dowry chest and point out some new fake cast iron figures. We also come across a vivid, beautiful and nostalgic (and yes, high-end) collection of early store display machines and advertising. A list of other highlights follows below…
I hope my walk through this huge show helps you learn more about antique and vintage items and share my encounters with them in the real world, sharing our passion and this community and helping each other with our antique education.

Yet again, sooooo many beautiful and amazing pieces! 😍 I love the figural cookie jars, we don't see those here either. The swedish glass piece I think is "Coquille" designed by Paul Kedelv for Flygsfors. And the big chest, that we call " brides chest", was originally for the girls to store, mostly different linens, they had woven or embroidered til the day they got married and moved away from home. We still have those chests but now it's the parents that gift their doughter various things useful to have when they move out. 😊

I believe that was a Coquille piece, thank you for the designer name, we've often wondered who did their work! We see brides chests from Sweden in the states from time to time. I'm glad you're having fun seeing the videos!

The same very large pie safe was on display at Liberty in NC...Sept 2019...it is fantastic...requires a really large home space as it is accessed from both sides...one of those...oh I wish pieces...

kansai kennels yes, that dealer sells all up the eastern seaboard and that was a great price for a specific place, not many so old and large in good condition like that!

Hi George! I've been watching for a new video today. Wow, I saw a lot of things that interested me, along with some items I actually have. The old wire egg basket, at 1:12, old hand-crank drill press, at 2:12, and the lantern with the red globe, at 2:16, I have those three pieces. I liked the oak furniture...but I prefer it not refinished. I like the aged, dark colour oak turns, after years of being around. The side-by-side secretary looked the best, to me. One sign I didn't see that I'd be interested in - a Dr. Pepper. I have an old yellow DP crate, and really like the old DP items. There were a couple items I saw that I really liked - the old hardware cabinet, at 5:33, and the Buster Brown plate, at 16:49. It would've been part of a set. I didn't see any Carnival Glass, except a set of four tumblers, though... I would've been all over the place, if I had been there. I think I'm going to go back and watch the vid again. I was pausing it off and on, and looking around at everything I could, while you were filming. Looking forward to the next video!

Not sure why but I only see Dr. Pepper signs in plastic from after 1970. I think it was a pretty regional drink before then. The hardware cabinet is my friend Derrick’s, he sells all over the East and has been on Flea Market Flip as a reseller but he mainly carries higher end true general store and southern country antiques.

@@TheAntiqueNomad If I hadn't had one, I wouldn't have taken notice of the drill press...probably wouldn't have known what it was. The one I have was my Great-grandfather's, then my Grandfather's. It took a lot of work, but my Grandfather and I oiled it, and finally got it to working again.

@@TheAntiqueNomad Yeah, the older Dr. Pepper signs/thermometers seem to be more difficult to find. Usually, when you do find them, they are somewhat unaffordable. I really like that hardware cabinet, but those are usually way out of my price range. That one looked to be in remarkable condition, too.

I am of the opinion that the 1950's had it right with furniture "the blonder the better" I have always been partial to plain beautiful wood furniture or very ornate old victorian as long as it has NOT been painted. lol Have a great day

"Flea Market" means many different things in the South, from thrift/junk store to cheap new imported goods to old anything goes markets and hybrid flea market/antique shows. The last type are often the most promising to me, and around there that's the Big Flea Market coming in March to Hampton Roads. It's the offshoot of the D.C. Big Flea, which is a huge market, I sold a bunch of stuff to their dealers when I conducted this crazy estate sale in Maryland a few years ago.
