WHAT TO DO (AND AVOID) AT BIG ANTIQUE SHOW | VINTAGE | RESELLING
We're so happy to be returning to Mount Dora, Florida for the Antique Extravaganza! This video shows why, where amazing one-of-a-kind vintage items, meetings with KZbin viewers and fellow dealers, and shopping for reseller bargains all factor into the giant fun equation that is Renninger's Antique Market.
We see some pretty incredible things in this one, from a jail cell and figure carved from a single block of wood to a patriotic tribute piece that could certainly qualify as museum grade (at a price to match). We meet Kat @TheNurseFlipper from KZbin and her friend and Instagram seller Janet, getting to do show-and-tell with the stuff they bought (including from me!). Minnesota and Colorado are also in the house, with KZbinr and social media types besides me starting to discover why Mt. Dora is such a great reselling venue!
Then we get to wander and shop and test our knowledge as we go towards the Street of Shops, a section of the grounds seldom traveled by the throngs who come for the three Antique Extrav's held here annually. We find a great deal on a political nodder ("bobblehead"), meet a really fun guy who makes uniquely vernacular Florida Faience pottery, and see an entire booth filled with nothing but mid-century head vases!
Along the way, we share some of the tips and tricks learned from years in the business (including a tent full of reproductions to be avoided, and why the "sun" glass is too good to be true!) We hope our experience helps you collect better, profit from reselling or otherwise benefit from our years of being on the antique show circuit.

The neat conversation with the potter and his story was so cool..my bus driver well the first half of ride living on a ranch we had an exchange half way.. in HS was a beautiful 1800's authentic black dress and side saddle rider in Our Fourth of July parade...that iron piece was wonderful. You shows are more happy and wonderful than the road show,,,we sure love you. Thank you...

I never knew about this show. I am for sure coming down for their next show which unfortunately looks to only be in the fall. Maybe I’ll run into you. I just got to the part showing all the shops, so I may stop in on our next Florida jaunt. Jeffery would freak out over all the flamingos. I’m a picture framer and it hurts my heart to see all the old art in frames with old acid filled mats which ruin the art.
