In the "old days" they wouldn't let you take a bottle with you so when you got a drink "to go" they would put it in a plastic bag and give you a straw. I love SuperMaxi, they used to have a grass feed cowboy steak that's pretty decent. Some of the best restaurants in the world are in Lima, I'd love for you to go!

Yeah, we like the drinking yogurt haha... and the plastic bag ones are supposed to be cheaper than the ones in the bottles (they are but I find that depending on the brand, they are also quite thinner than the ones in the jugs). Anyways, they sell lots of other products in plastic bags, like milk, drinking oatmeal, water, juices, etc.

Supermaxi is one of the biggest chains in Ecuador. It belongs to the Wright family from Quito. Their biggest competitor is Mi Comisariato, which belongs to the Czarninski family from Guayaquil. Both families own many franchises and stores, not only supermarkets.
