7:20 This is one of the biggest misconceptions about Voldemort. He did not used fear as a tool in the first wizarding war. He used his extraordinary magical skills. He created his army of witches and wizards by bewitching them in different ways and he killed the greatest of wizards who tried to stop him. Voldemort surpassing Grindelwald is the reason why people in the wizarding world do not dare to speak his name.

Hello. I came across this video because the topic seems very interesting. I'd like to give out a friendly suggestion about your audio. It seems that either you are recording your voice too close to the microphone, or that you have settings that emulate this, because the audio is very high on the bass frequencies, which makes your speech a little hard to follow. I would suggest the following: 1) Record a little further away from the microphone, this can improve the clarity of your recordings. 2) After you record, use an equalizer effect (most video editing softwares have this effect) to reduce the bass frequencies, so the higher frequencies can come through, and have the audio be more clear. If you need more details on this I can explain. 3) Pronounce the words a little more clearly: Because people on video essays normally don't see your face, specifically lips, when hearing the audio, we need very very clear audio to understand what you are saying. Usually, if we don't understand something, our brain fills out the gaps with other information (for example, the movement of the lips). If we don't have that, the audio needs to be as clear as possible. Otherwise, great video. Cheers!

8:04 well this video lost all credibility. How are you gonna make a video about the most powerful wizards of all time and say that many people view Dumbledore has the most powerful of all time, but you think he really wasn’t when in fact, the movies and more importantly, the books reference him repeatedly as the most powerful wizard of all time???

I haven't been able to find any references that refer to Dumbledore being the most powerful wizard of all time, in the books or movies. However, in the philosophers stone, Professor Dumbledore is described by Professor McGonagall as "one of the greatest wizards of modern times.". And he is repeatedly referred to as ONE of the most powerful wizards of all time, but never THE most powerful of all time. The truth is that there is no definitive answer as to who is the most powerful wizard of all time, in the Harry Potter universe. We will never see a battle between Merlin and Dumbledore. The only thing we do know, is that Dumbledore is often referred to as one of the greatest wizards of HIS time, but Merlin has a legendary status in the wizarding world all together, and is referred to regularly in daily life "Merlins beard", or in "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix," when Professor McGonagall expresses concern over Dolores Umbridge's appointment as Hogwarts High Inquisitor, she notes that even Merlin would have difficulty achieving the tasks Umbridge has set. So yes, in my video I state that Merlin is the most powerful. You don't haft to agree, but saying it lost all credibility because you don't agree, is just ridiculous. Thanks for watching!

Well i thought about 3 brothers, deathly hollow owners, also Merlin, then the guy who created magical chess, n other guy who created basilisk. Then Griffindor himself, Salazar of course, Dumbledore and Voldy obviously, n Harry, also the guy who found or created Dementors

Harry potter (Just was never or have power hunger like any others even he did something incredible Patronus charm no one can did at his age another Killed Basilik at such young how many can do at that age! ) And of course Snape is really powerful even Voldemort never couldn't read his mind if you seen order of the phonix where through Harry voldemort tries to read his mind but Snape was one ahead of him. Snape act like he hate HARRY POTTER Also Half blood prince proved it how powerful he power & knowledge he had!) he is also very very modest person who had no power hunger. I really really think Dumbledore is all time number he was all time was to modest his mind knowledge is just unmeasurable. Voldemort didn't know all that time that harry himself was horcrux but Dumldore know from the beginning & told it Snape. It was Dumbledore who made trap. Also keep in mind nobody the Elder Wand as much time as did Dumbledore except Dumbledore other just die too quickly bc of it. Another after Volde killed harry 7th horcrux Dumbledore comes to Harry's mind as unfinished business comes to end.) Voldemort is of course powerful but all he was mostly vicious & fragile. Volde always feared that he never lose his dominating side Volde i think spot at may 5th/6th. Harry potter age 19 even fight 1:1 voldemort. (Espeically about Harry Potter he is the may be only who achieved most the of thing wizarding world Such as - 1. Philoshopher stone 2. Invincible clock 3. Elder Wand 4. Resurrection stone 5. What gives the edge to Grindlewald as the lord of darkness.... 1. He was smart enough NOT to sever his soul and split into Horcruxes 2. Dumbledore feared HIM... He was him as a true equal. 3. He actually mastered the Elder wand. And it goes without saying that his top created spells outstrip Voldemort's in terms of crowd control. He was also charismatic in the extreme. He didn't have to whip up fear to get people following him.

Don’t forget that dumbledore can see and possibly use ancient magic not to mention his mastery in all forms of magic including wandless magic and not using spells to perform magic and the ability to see through the invisibility cloak and his superior intelligence personally I think he rivals Merlin or even surpasses him and that’s not including the extra power he get from the elder wand

I have to disagree with this to be honest. I can go on ranting about this, but I won’t I’ll just say that dumbledore literally created a 5-dimensional pocket dimension. A 5-DIMENSIONAL POCKET DIMENSION. He was also able to take out the jungian archetypal personality of an obscurial which is beyond the very concepts of space and time and dimensions. Sorry man. But I HAVE to give it to dumbledore.

This comment is intriguing. Do you mind explaining what you mean that an obscurial is beyond space and time? I don’t get what you intend because they exist in the magical world and all magic is beyond time and space if you want to think of it that way….

Jungian archetypes represent the truest forms of a concept and exist beyond all space and time. Which Dumbledore momentarily separated from his nephew during their fight. He separated the very concept from his body before putting it right back in.

Slyrherins basalisk was enchanted to be more powerful than any basalisk ever known in all of history with its skills and abilities increased and modified to make it unmatchable vut thankfully the ancient magic used to do so didnt make it possible enough to stop wizards magically connected to the serpents masters life through things like horcruxes such as harry and also other magical beings such as giants and trolls but giants eyes are weak against basalisks compared to most other magical beings but thanks to the basalisks, wizards and other humanoids were able to study the giants weaknesses

FINALLY Merlin has has been chosen as the mightyst wizard, to EVER have walked the earth....🥳🥳. Thatwas about time I myst say! STILL I do not agree that, he went to Hogwarts, since he orginary lived in the late 500/600 century AD and served King Arthur and his knights of the round table and Hogwart was founded in the late 900's AD. I don't care what, JK says Merlin is a category of his own!! Merlin was still alive when Hogwarts was founded, he might as well be in his late 200/300 years old. Maybe along side Morgana Le Fay and so on.....(If she was still alive?).

While I agree Merlin was the greatest wizard in history I don't think you can compare wizards of different time periods. Salazar Slytherin and Godric Gryffindor were probably the greatest wizards of their time. I use the word "greatest" rather than "powerful" because to me powerful means magically dominant while greatest combines magical power, intellect, and wisdom. Given that Albus Dumbledore was the greatest in modern times with Grindelwald and Voldemort second or third. Harry Potter would rank near the top in magical power as even as a teenager he defeated Voldemort. That alone would make him one of the most powerful wizards of all time. Greatness would be his if he continued the development of his magical talents along with gaining knowledge and wisdom of the world at large. JMHO.

Found it! I had a feeling Grildlewald was stronger than Voldemort. I heard Grindelwald fought Dumbledore for days and could've beaten him had things gone differently, whereas Voldemort, possessed Harry Potter to run away. Grindelwald could've defeated Merlin, fight me!

There is no official statement on how long Dumbledore and Grindelwald's duel lasted. It was just described as "legendary" which can mean many things.
