April (chair model) is delightful. What a fantastic smile!

Michael's treatment of Pam's landlord was really cruel. She was so sweet and kind. And the dancing on the grave completely ruined the tone of the whole idea of the chair model, as someone Michael fell in love with at first sight.
@mikepastor.k6233 Жыл бұрын
You're right about the first part. Makes Michael look like a real jerk. Second part about the dancing on the grave was not done maliciously. Just Michael and Dwight being unintentionally and childly crass.

Not much to say here. Of all the episodes of the fourth season of The Office, that was certainly one of them. I did like April Eden's theory that the chair model might not actually be dead. But if that is true, it raises another question. Dwight found the name, and the grave, of a woman who was the right age and had lived and died in the vicinity. If she wasn't actually the chair model, where did he get her information from?

First time I watched this one I thought it was kind of weird how it went straight to Jan and Michael being broken up but there wasn’t any more wood they could throw on that fire I guess lol. Honestly the only part of this episode I like is the end where Michael and Dwight sing American Pie.

This episode is Michael at his most dislikeable in places. Any man who would give up Jan doesn't deserve a woman. I did like the B plot of the parking lot though. Kevin is my favourite character from the actual office building itself. Of course overall in 'The Office' Jan is my favourite character.

I’ll admit, this is my least favourite Office from all Seasons 2-6. It was such a letdown after the Dinner Party. That was such an iconic show. Here Michael just seemed so desperate - which seems odd - he’s just getting out of a fairly intense relationship with Jan - so he knows he’s desirable - he just needs to find a woman not as crazy as Jan.
@rachelr41264 жыл бұрын
Well the other way to look at it is that Jan was a very intense and consuming relationship and Michael was rebounding hard, not sure how to be alone anymore, how to be single after living with someone who took so much time and attention... And at the same time, someone who also probably knocked a pretty serious dent in his self-worth. Remember that, sure, Jan was hot, but their relationship was also incredibly toxic. He was forced to sleep on a footstool, fought with her and was put down by her constantly... So i do think he was desperate in this episode. He was seriously lonely after coming out of a relationship that'd consumed so much time and energy, he was aching for affection after being put down and unappreciated for months. he was probably desperate to find someone new to validate his decision to leave Jan and to keep from wanting to go back to her (remember he'd broken up with her and been pulled back in before) but... He was probably also wary of opening up to someone new and being hurt again, which is why he found himself fixating on a completely safe option: a picture in a magazine, someone he could focus his affection on but who he'd never meet and couldn't be hurt by. ... That was way too long a ramble, sorry. 😅 What happens when you start dissecting sitcoms at 4am. But yeah, I think chair model is a perfect follow up and sad exploration of post-breakup Michael.

In any Office continuation with Michael and Holly, we need the Chair Model to come back in a love triangle. Michael finds out she WAS alive, has to seek her out and drama ensues.
