Gabriel great hanging out for dinner tonight and shooting the breeze. The two flyover structures are roadways that come out of that building which is now a parking lot. It's so the old city doesn't get gridlocked with cars. The security guards at the entrances to the Gurudwara are the Khalsa, spiritual soldiers. They'll pat you down (only if they think 🤔 you are suspicious enough or they don't like you) and ask if you're bringing in Alcohol, Drugs or Tobacco which are prohibited within the Gurudwara. Sikhs are pretty cool 😎 people. Quite a good number of Panjabi people are tall around 6 feet to 6 foot 4 inches tall. I'm 6 feet tall and felt like a shorty next to the 6 foot-four dudes 🤣. Keep doing your best 😎🙏🏻.

The video at 7:30 is the statue of Ranjit Singh, the first maharaja of the Sikh empire. The language is written in Persian because majority of the Sikh empire were in lands where Muslims were the majority and at that time, Persian (due to the Mughals who made Persian the official language) was the lingua Franca or common language for people in northern India to speak. I think it was only when the British defeated the Mughal and Sikh empire that Urdu became the lingua Franca for the Muslims in northern India (which included territories that are now Pakistan)

Wow, How nice to see @TravelingEddie! His videos in Colombia were very helpful for us when were traveled there in 2021. We can't wait to see your next video with the Golden Temple! In July we spent several hours in Delhi's Gurudwara Sri Bangla Sahib (even helped prepare some of the food for the Langar). Whether you are Sikh are not, there is no denying that some of the things they do (giving 10% monetary or time into the gurudwara to help keep the food services free and the medical services at a very low cost) are a great example of how we could all be better human beings.

I don't think they've changed much since Covid. Prices are definitely up in general, for example the thali I showed at the beginning was 450 rupees. I have a decent room with double bed and attached bathroom for $12, can't complain about that. And if you really want to stretch the rupees you can find cheaper rooms and super cheap street food.
