When I was a kid in the sixties we played marbles every day. I had three stashes of marbles. First was my playing stash. Second was my trading stash. Third was my showing off stash. One of these was called a mooney which was a creamy white shooter size and when sunlight shown through it would project an opalescent crescent moon on your hand. Thanks for the video it brought back some memories for sure.

That’s one of the most unique pieces of marble cullet I’ve seen. It’s hard to believe they just dumped all of that.

Brings back lots of memories seeing the old dump sites. When we were kids we traded marbles for almost anything and I had the greatest secret way to have unique marbles in colours only I could supply. A friend of mine had a sphere grinding machine for making rocks into spheres for his dads jewelry business. I found a huge dump site that had tons of broken uranium glass, millefiori glass and telephone pole wire insulators from 1900 or so guessing from the other bottles I found. I would supply him with broken glass pieces and we split the marbles we made. We felt like bandits trading broken glass made into marbles for anything we could get. In the 70s everyone had black UV lights for felt posters so we played marbles in the dark with glow in the dark marbles. You could easily make some really neat marbles from the scrap glass you collected. And because it was actually used to make marbles you would end up with perfectly round marbles in colours that actually existed long ago.

You want to Arrowhead Hunt first. Believe me....it is way better than this. But this is cool. If you live by a river or a large stream. Get out on it and start looking. You will even find some marbles from time to time.

You can only go do this 1 or 2 times per year. There is no life at all in that creek. You dont even hear birds.....see a worm....nothing. It is toxic.

so dont be jealous. It is a place of death....a place if you get in the water....you would get cancer or have health problems down the line. That is NO GOOD. They honestly need to clean the place up with a Federal Grant

Bro...no joke that was a haul! That cullet is so cool, and the big Cub Scout error....month maker for sure! It’s just incredible that you have so many top shelf places to hunt all this stuff. If I had stumbled upon a place like that when I was a kid, you'd have to pry me out of there. That brownish w/ blue & other colors was really neat, I'd like to see a marble made out of it. You could make a lamp out of cullet, like the marble lamp you got at the antique store. Dog buddy looks all fresh & spiffed up. Enjoy your day ! :~)
