Exploring the Peace River | Gheenoe 15'4 Highsider & Riverhawk B60

Please join along as myself and 3 other couples take their Gheenoe 15'4 highsiders up the Peace River near Arcadia. We used the free launch next to Navigators Bar and Grill. From there we went approximately 8 miles before the river got to shallow to take our boats any further. The river is exceptionally low this time of year, plus we have gone a few months without any rain. We saw plenty of alligators on this trip, and you can even catch tarpon is far up the river. It was a great trip even though we didn't get to hunt for fossils.

The Piece River is a nice place to be I put in it in Wauchula and went down the river with my Longtail Duck Boat and found a pretty good amount of Sharks Teeth nothing real big. Enjoyed it Kevin.

Was fishing in Peace River yesterday (a very narrow section) when some assholes came through on an airboat completely destroying the water. The best part is that they had a trolling motor, but for some reason were using the giant fan engine. Didn't catch a single thing.

That sounds exactly like the peace river to me. It’s mainly the southern end.

This may have been a last minute trip, but you should have told me you need a copilot... Haven't you heard of using the buddy system? That free cabin is very cool! I am planning a boating adventure next Wednesday, depending on the weather. Either going hunting more lost/abandoned boats or just uninhabited island explorations, maybe a combo of both. This shallow water stuff is very cool to watch. I guess we have been getting all your rain, our rivers are flooded. My air cooled engines would love the shallow water, but I doubt jon would go through 6 inch water... This video has a bunch of comments, I had to make mine big to stand out...

Haha, thanks Chud. Visit the silver river before it gets browned out. It's only a matter of time before the summer storms are here and all the rivers are up. There's not too many abandoned boats worth checking out around here. Most are below the water line or being used as a homeless camp.

@@OverlandFlorida Skip the outboard jet. Get you an inboard jet. Sea Ark Predator handles 9” with ease and 6” no problem if you get a hole to get up in on the other side. I can run even less at full speed for several hindered yards. Only negative is lilly pads. They can jam you up quick. I’ll be moving to custom jet soon that is longer and floats shallower.

@Josh Alberson I want an actual jet boat, like a power boat. Not an outboard with a het drive. You lose a lot of performance out of those.

The Sea Ark Predator has a Mercury Sport Jet power head running an inboard jet (ie like power boat) so you don’t lose performance. Next boat I am going with either a Kodiak or Indmar supercharged engine.

Peace river is awesome by the navigator, and if you don’t catch fish, you can get a good sammach from there

We could have kept going. We would have had to walk the boats a few yards as it gets really shallow in those areas.

It's the same length as an LT25. My boat is 60 inches wide. I have walmart sunglasses that are just like my old costas.

@@scotthorton7786 FYI, no body likes it for the points I mentioned above. Those boats are like a lawn mower on steriods. Everyone and all the wildlife run for cover when one of those things comes blarring down river. You are taking the "Peace "out of Peace River for everything.
