That Fifish ROV is so amazing, and so cool. The views underwater are just so clear, and the fact you can bring things back up with the claw. Terrific stuff. That "tyre", looks like a German tyre from a Pak, or maybe an AA, gun? Would love to know if it had any writing on it. It's amazing how much stuff just got thrown away, especially at the end of the war. Thank you guys, for another amazing video! Cheers, and Stay Safe and Well!

Suction cups. One on each gripper arm. Attach using cable ties. Drill a hole at the base of the suction cup. Run a cable tie through the hole attach to gripper arm. This is a quick fix and cheap way to possibly fix the slipping off issue. (gripper arms would need to stay open until you find your target item)

Under the streets of what was once West Germany are huge underground areas with trucks and armaments of all kinds . I know because I was stationed in the old west Germany in the 70s' . Access was not easy , but possible until the Germans flooded those underground areas and had welded steel access doors put in place . Stuttgart comes to mind .

11:19 looks to be a tractor tire, a front wheel specifically. Possible it could have been a front tire on a smaller truck or wheeled artillery too. If you look to where the tire bead would seal on the rim at the ID in the location between North East and East direction (assign the ROV heading north), is that a black starfish blocking part of the ID out or is it considerably damaged? Damage in that area would be very uncommon unless maybe if it was from battle, then that would place it in WW2 era likely.

@@WW2HistoryHunter I bet, you guys bring many smiles to my heart with your wonderful small adventures!!! I appreciate your sharing these cherished good family times of you, your daughter and Eagle eyes with us over all these years! the fifish grabber reminds me of a game we have here in video game arcades and stores where you try grabbing stuffed animals and toys and then try to navigate it to a capture slide,so you can hopefully get it in there to take it home with you! do you have a way to adjust the pressure of the grabber so you don't crush whatever you're trying to grab? I was trying to think of something to add to the grabber so you can get plates and such.it's great that you have other teammates to collaborate with who know robotics 🤖!!! thanks again guys!!!
@michaelferro897

if you get some rubber or maybe a type of foam padding with a grippy texture to it and duct tape it to the grabbers I think that would help pick up plates hopefully. I know it's a work in progress. I love it!!!

For retrieving the wheels, have you considered placing a grapling hook connected to a rope, have the pinchers on the ROV deliver the hook, release the hook on the wheel and haul the wheel up manually. Might work.

Well we are diving into different suggestions and solutions so time will tell what we can arrange. Thanks.
@daveb5540

Rubber pads on the end of the grabbers would help. Also place a basket near your search site to put your goodies in to be hauled up separately by a rope. your ROV is great for finding stuff but is not equipped to retrieve, heavy objects. it would also save on underwater ROV time.

Soldiers, sailors and airmen drink when off duty. When sailors drink it's often near the water and the empties make a nice splash. A rubberized paint or plastic dip on the claw might help with grip on items like the plates. The wheel looked like it might be off a light gun carriage for a Pak or Flak.

Is the grabber interchangeable? Might wanna look into different ones that you can swap to see if the different types of grabbers can work best for certain objects. Is there like a suction cup tool that you can suck on a flat object and pull it up? Just some ideas. How strong is that motor, btw?

ROV is pretty stron and sution cups could work if the object is completely clean and flat , otherwise i think it will struggle but any idea is welcomed and we will try out more for further success. Thank you for taking time to comment and watch.

A set of jaws with a rubber coating would help. If they came together like a pair of pliers rather than overlapping like scissors, that would be even better. I also suspect you found an implement tire, like the front tire from a smaller farm tractor or a light duty wagon or cart.

Another great episode,leaving us all wanting more as usual.Perhaps small lift bags could be attached to “heavy recovery’s” then pulled to shore on a line attached to the bags ? Which could be independent of the ROV less stress ? Regards FNQ AU

Hmm, you could do with a separate basket to lower down with a rope so you could load up the basket with the ROV, doesn't really help with the plate issue though sry.

Again Catchy intro tunes, gets us in the mood for more WW2 history adventures. That V6 IFISH ROV is an amazing device in helping you retrieve those underwater treasures. No doubt in my mind HH between you and the Robtic expert Team Member, you will find an affective solution in regards to the grippers slipping. Do you think that you might use your A1 Status PADI Certification in scuba diving HH? That would make for even more exciting discoveries. EE and/or BBG could be your spotters. Great find with the porcelain cup. I wonder what era and kind it is? Too bad the beer bottle wasn't a WW2 German one, but you have found a few before and will again. German wine bottle looks in great shape. I could envision the German soldiers exchanging tales only to toss their empty bottles into the water after. I think you are right on EE, that round object looked like a tire - Pancer maybe yes? Too bad you weren't able to retrieve the plate, better luck next time. Teaser intrigues me, but will patiently wait. Once again, thanks for all your hard work HH, EE, & BBG. Continue to stay safe fellow Team members and followers. Back to work I must.

well i hope to show some diving skills soon for a other project and who knows what can come out of that. That place is interesting as it can be and we will probably be able to fish up more stuff with Fifish V6S later , hopefully. Tie will tell. Thanks Laura for your incredible support and stay safe.

All the beer and wine bottles you find the Germans must have been some happy soldiers lol. I find my eyes scanning the whole screen looking for items. The round piece you saw looks like a front tractor tire or maybe a tire off a plane. Hopefully you’ll find out what it is. Great work.

Are you able to take pictures with the V6 ? If so you can identify the items later ! Have you thought about learning to Scuba Dive that way you could retrieve items that the robot cannot !? Or find someone on your team that is certified Scuba diver to help you get those items ! This why I really enjoy your channel but cannot afford to help by PayPal or patreon way !

While I enjoy all your videos, there is something about the underwater ROV adventures that captivates me. Maybe it’s going into the unknown that does it. I know in your later videos you’ve got new grabbers for the ROV so no sense in giving suggestions lol. The cup looked really old. May be a cup the locals had and the Germans took them. Beer and wine bottles here plus the plate you couldn’t get, is just the beginning as to what might be down there.
