Damn man that’s some nice sounding algorithms. No joke I kind of shrugged off this module thinking it wouldn’t be worth it. Most of the bank type of reverbs I’ve never really liked. But this sounds absolutely amazing. Been watching you for years on here and was super excited when you turned your channel to more of a modular focused channel.
@ecks82142 жыл бұрын
I think a number of chip effects modules suffer from basic algorithmic design or (more importantly to me anyways) ground/noise isolation issues when actually put into a system with other modules. There was one module I was mildly excited for, then heard it in person and couldn't get over the floor noise. They said that was normal and I never looked at it again :(

Great video as usual Jeremy! When you change effect type, does the wet sound get cut suddenly or does it soft-fade to the new one?
@RedMeansRecording2 жыл бұрын
Hard cut
@mtommy842 жыл бұрын
@@RedMeansRecording sad. It would have been great if it had a soft-fade. You could have CVed the hell out of it in that case
@pe000000012 жыл бұрын
@@mtommy84 That would require doubling the processor for running two programs in parallel and doing the crossfade. Consider how much a waste would this be just for this simple feature. Not to mention having two processors there would always be a pressure to run two effects instead of one at a time, and making a smooth crossfade it would call for another pair, and so on.
@mtommy842 жыл бұрын
@@pe00000001 you wouldnt need more signal processor, but just smart buffering that sustain/decay the last few N second of wet sound.
@pe000000012 жыл бұрын
@@mtommy84 No, that is not true. You would need two active processes to do a smooth morph. I know what I'm saying, I'm a DSP engineer.

Thanks for some tips, as always (specially when you are not so promotion orientated😉) I have a Kosi and I see that at one time you patch both sides of output (up and down shifted) = 4 cables, but Timi got only 2 inputs… how to patch? I wonder if the delay feedback might be able to be pushed further with an offset voltage into its CV mod input?
@TheJones01052 жыл бұрын
Have you noticed that when the wet signal is way louder than what comes in? We tried it in the shop where i work and thats the only thing we didn’t appreciate… anyways it has insane algorythms Great video as always
@pe000000012 жыл бұрын
It depends on the algorithm and is not true in general. The hardware passes wet signal at 0dB loss (1:1). Some algorithms must attenuate input signal for making room for amplitude increase due to very deep (nearly 100%) feedback to avoid clipping. This is a general rule that affects all dsp processors, especially in a tight environment like eurorack which has literally zero headroom. On the other hand, some algorithms inevitably make things louder (for example distortions) because they add harmonics and enrich the spectrum.
