Wickenburg Arizona? That is very interesting. In my German hometown Essen there is a district called Holsterhausen. In Holsterhausen there is a place called Wickenburg. And now I read that Wickenburg Arizona is named after the gold prospector Heinrich (Henry) Wickenburg from Essen Holsterhausen. The world is small!

I really enjoyed the video. Wickenburg probably has more prospects per square mile than any other place in the US. I just left Wickenburgabout ten days ago. Had to say goodbye to my claims for the summer as 113 was just a touch warm for me. Came back with chrysocolla, massive vein amethyst, black calcite and silver ore. It was an interesting trip complete with a broken fanbelt halfway to nowhere, an overloaded trailer which bent the tongue supports, and on 95 had to bypass part of the road where they had earthquake damage. We got just South of Mina en route to Reno from Tonopah when a 4.1 quake hit. The motorhome bounded sideways like a drunk Brahma Bull and it was a fun ride. I ended up with a collapsed shock but no other damage. It did pucker my butt a bit and I didn't have any need for a seatbelt at that point. The rest of the trip was pretty uneventful and I was glad to get home and collapse in my own bed.

Good video. Was lucky enough to get permission to prospect and explore several mines around Wickenburg over a 10 year period, good times but too old to climb now. Run into a group of Javelina that were hiding out during hunting season, that was a tense moment lol. Another time was in small tunnel i accidentally found and wasn't prepared, just had mini mag light but wanted to check it. got inside around 40 feet and eyes started adjusting and it looked like the walls and ceiling were moving. Then i realized they were completely covered with Daddy-Longleg spiders. Have run into several rattlesnakes as well and other various critters. I know a mine that if you climb up one particular ore chute to the stope above the main drift there is a small section of vein with visible natural copper and some visible gold. This video makes me want to go.

Hey Frank, probably too much to ask, but is it possible you could do a video of a detailed diagram of a common type of mine you explore and explain it? How it should look when it was in service compared to now. Not a specific mine, but an old mine in general. Was trying to find diagrams in the internet is oddly tougher than expected.
