Favorite song on this one is probably Little Guitars and its intro, but this, Secrets, Intruder, and The Full Bug are also hard to beat.

I'm a huge Van Halen fan from the beginning but, this album holds a special place in my heart. This album was released towards the end of my senior year of high school so it rings out as my graduation VH album. In my group of friends it was huge to us. Of course we loved all the stuff before but every time I hear this album I always think of graduation and the parties after. It has a lot of covers but they are damn good ones plus, the original songs are killer. Always loved this album.

There are a lot of deep cut gems on the Sammy Hagar albums, too. Don't stop until you've heard the whole catalog. So fun revisiting these songs with you. I used to play this cassette in the car, but I forgot this one. Worth it!

I think EVH's least favorite album, but it's one of my MOST fav...it was my first exposure to VH as a 12 year old!!! Pretty Woman on the radio...I was like GOTTA have this record!

I'm looking forward to Big Bad Bill (Is Sweet William Now). Keep in mind, it's not a Rock tune. Lots of Rock fans gave them shit at the time for straying away from the traditional Hard Rock sound. This time, Eddie and Alex's Dad performs the solo... and it's not on guitar. I love it and I hope you do too!

Supposedly Dave had to lobhy really hard to get that song on the album. Eddie was against it but was very thankful to Dave later after Jan VH died & Ed realized it was about the only good recording he had of his dad.

These guys bring it on every song. I don't care what people say . DLR era is better. High octane rock and roll. Thank you eddie for everything. You are missed.

I forget who it was but I saw a guitar YT'er talk about the intro riff and why it was so deceptively difficult. Played that quickly it sort of sounds like straight 16th notes and that's how most people try to mimic it, but it never sounds quite right when played that way. So the YT guy played the original slowed way down and demonstrated that he's actually using a pretty heavy swing rhythm, which gives it the feel that it does, and at that speed makes it extremely difficult to play. As simple as it sounds it's ironically one of Eddies most difficult riffs to replicate.

every VH album has OBVIOUS growth. and Hang em high was bad ass. it sets the stage for a lot of future hits. you have the basis of the double bass shuffle that youll hear in "Hot For Teacher", it all comes together in 1984. And maybe the band was supposed to to part then.

Hang 'em High is an old Clint Eastwood western, so the description of leather on his thigh refers to the gun holster. As for listening to the dead, I think it's about any sound of hoofbeats would soon mean a dead rider, or anyone else talking before he sho0ts. But, this is just my opinion. Can't recommend watching the movie enough.

I didn't know that you had new videos again after you took two months or so off but I hit the post notification bell today after I saw you had new videos lately this morning and I didn't even see them at all. If channels don't post videos for a long time people don't see that those channels have new videos as much as channels that upload often or at least once a week and your channel and other people's that don't post in a long time go down lower and lower in people's subscriptions.

an opinion is like a butt-hole, everybody has one but the only one that matters is mine, hahaha. that being said, of the first six albums with DLR, the first 4 were great records, the last two weren't as good in my opinion. this one is the only album of the six i somehow never bought even though it had one of my favorite VH songs, Little Guitars.
