accuRIG is a free software that helps you to rig your model - bind a humanoid skeleton to the model and do some skin weights, so the model become a character and is ready for animating or motion retargeting
In the video I'm going to stop on the export of the rigged model from accuRIG into maya or motionbuilder, in order to use a custom preset for a quick skeleton characterization.

how use the script? because i copy the script in a bloc note and save .xml then put into folder maya but the rigg in maya show me errors

it's better to save xml file directly from the repository. You can do that by opening a raw view of the file and then save in the browser. what kind of error do you have ?

hey! thank you for sharing, but after applying the preset I get a "missing required bones" error, do you know how could I fix it?

I just tested yesterday from a Maya target export and it works for me. Could you please share which export option did you use ? maya, mobu, etc in AccuRig? and which version of maya /mobu do you use ?

@@Neill3d thank you for the fast response, I used Maya target export and followed the steps specified on the video (saving xml in the same folder, selecting the hip joint before applying preset, etc) I wonder what could it be. the only difference I see between my scene and yours is that my character is made out of diferent meshes (eyeballs, tshirt...) but still skinned to the same skeleton, could that be the source of the problem?

hi the template works fine. thank you so much you deserve a statute dude. but i've seen after creating the rig an infinite line pop up on the right part of the body, ahead of the shoulder controler. what is that?

Hi there. I did it and it works but now when I set a key frame in a controller all the other controllers also get keyed. And deleting a keyframe in a controller also deletes it in all controllers. Do you know a way to fix this?

if I understand correctly, you are saying about keyframing the humanik control rig effectors ? in that case, the logic depends on a body mode you have - it could control only selected, body part elements (left/right leg, left/right hand, head, etc.) or keyframe the whole body. I would suggest to learn more tips and tricks about humanik

what animation do you want to add ? and in which software do you want to add it to the character ? do you mean to retarget some mocap in maya or motionbuilder ?

How you create the .xml file?? I want to know. Please reply

In humanIK window there is a tab Definition. Above the tab there is toolbar with buttons where you can find a button to Load Skeleton Definition and Save Skeleton Definition. When you press button to Save Skeleton Definition, a new popup window appears and you enter your template name and path where it's going to be stored. And that will generate a new configuration xml file.

Everytime when i do a new character i have to follow this step or one time creation will enought for all 3d models.. Thank you for reply. Still confuse.

@@aryyadey2700 if your models have the same skeleton naming and structure, then one template could be applied to all of them. just open a new model, select hips, load the created template.

I did a test and it created asymetrical joints . Did you see that ?

I didn't notice for having joints very asymetrical, it could be dependent on a specific model you pass and what tweaks you did over there... I thought there is a mirror tool for your tweaks

This happens with perfectly symetrical body meshes, and also using auto-mirrored pin guides for the tool. That means it is a program failure

how is doesn't work ? you can't see it in templates list, you can not apply it or you apply but a character is still not ready for the setup ?

@@SergeySolohin I also tried to use the preset but when I choose the xml file in the definition window nothing happens. No information is attached to the rig. I'm using my own character which I uploded into AccuRig earlier
