The EU being to harsh on Hungry? Hungry has done more than enough to get itself evicted from the EU in my opinion. They are in flagrant violation of the membership rules of the EU "club" and there is is plenty of legal precedent for evicting members who violate the rules they legally agreed to when joining whatever club it maybe. Yep, if anything, the EU has been too soft on Hungary and even thought they can't kick them out, there are things they can do, they can isolate Hungary from the EU and other members by taking away their voting rights and closing the boarder on them from all other EU countries, which might be a wise thing to do with how close Orbán is with Putin and how he could let Russian spies in the EU which would be a threat to the EU and to all EU members, including Hungary. In any case, appeasement rarely works with dictators, we are seeing that with Hungary, we are seeing that with Putin, the sooner western countries realise that and start getting tougher on these dictators or wannabe dictators, the better.

I'm terribly sorry to correct you, but Italy doesn't have a strong democratic tradition, we are prone to stupid voting and our history proves it. Our media aren't objective but they were bad also before Meloni (and she's not doing anything to improve this). The beat we can hope is having a lot of bias media, each biased in its own way. The most famous newspapers often don't accurately verify informations and almost always give simplistic explanations. We need help! (Of course we have some good ones but they're not widespread because we're not trained to recognize good media and real analysis takes time and effort)

@@MyPrideFlag you got that wrong. if a country leaves the EU, it also leaves the single market and gets treated as a _third country_ legally. that's inevitable and comes with a lot of consequences, especially if your economy needs to export stuff. ofc, if you want the benefits of the single market but remain outside of the EU, you can try your luck negotiating a treaty. you pay into the EU budget almost like a member state without any say to vote in council and you need to be nice, like Norway. if you are a misbehaving bully, trying all kinds of tricks and negate on your promises, you won't get such a deal as the May/Johnson governments found out to their surprise.

As a centrist Italian, I think Meloni is right about the Rai issue. The majority of Italians know very well that Rai has been occupied by the left. Simply now that they are trying to rebalance a bit, the left and its newspapers talk about fascism, control of the media and other inventions. As you can see, the people did not fall for it and Meloni increased the consensus in the European elections compared to the national ones of 2 years ago. As for the other "black sheep" I think that each government only defends its own national interests.

We have the same in The Netherlands, the 3 public broadcasting channels are very left and by that influencing the public opinion instead of neutral informing people. Although the left is a minority in our country, they dominate the media (radio, TV, newspapers) and don’t allow people with other opinions in the newsrooms. Not officially of course, that would be illegal, but sneaky, just don’t appoint rightwing journalists only leftwing journalists and if one slips through the cracks, they are sacked, set on a side track or out of the blue are accused of inappropriate behavior (aka not left). They use the same tactics as the old boys network did with women and minorities, they are just not good journalists and left journalists are better. We need positive discrimination for rightwing journalists in public broadcasting more than we needed it for women and minorities. Or just cancel public broadcasting at all. And don’t be mistaken, I am not rightwing, I am center right, but I do not recognize my political views in public broadcasting, but I do see enormous amounts of leftwing items, leftwing views as mainstream and tainted news on public broadcasting and also in national newspapers which all shifted to the left. Even a rightwing liberal-conservative newspaper like NRC is now a leftwing newspaper and actively campaigning against the new rightwing government. And I know, I have a subscription for over 40 years, I’ve seen them change. I took a rightwing newspaper subscription this year to balance the news.

@@ANDR0iD Speculation is understandable, but the facts are the new 'favorable' government now and before they were in power has broken the law. And now they did it in really straightforward way. Also there started personal vendetta using police on people involved in uncovering the mafia influence and corruption. To be honest it was very close to all out rebellion after what they did. Still EU released the founds when no law has changed and well, laws are still being trampled. So basically it is worse then before, but all mainstream media are on one side now, so there is hard to find any objective reports. It is very difficult to have any reasonable conversation with people in Poland watching tv regularly. They only repeat whet they hear word for word in tv, same phrases, almost no individual opinions are formed.

What the soviet union did was massive deportation and strategic placement of Russian minorities in every soviet Republic to control the internal politics of the said region by having a loyal population. What the UE does when spreading the refugees is a way to not cluster them in one place or country to avoid slums which would in turn severely affect their integration process. Let's not forget refugees are an incredibly small percent of the total migrants that come to European Union. Most migrants are withing the Bloc itself. Unless you think the eastern or southerners are inferior in any racial way, there is literally no problem with internal Migration. (Pls don't be racist to anyone) The immigrants that come from outside EU are coming because there is work and labour demand. Would you mister, or miss, go to let's say the neighbouring country (which is hypothycally richer than yours) just because it is richer? If that's the case, then what will you live off? You must find work there or else you will be poor, but somewhere else. That is the logic followed by all immigrants (excluding refugees). Even illegal immigrants. In my opinion time will solve the integration problem and in the end the Replacment theory will have been proofed to be just a delusional, hate inspired, nationalistic Theory which tries to portray itself as a Messiah to the masses. And the masses aren't well educated.

As an Euro-Italian I have to say that I'm proud and glad of being European but the EU must be reformed, with these actual political structure it doesn't represent the majority of the behavior of the European nations, it is shaped according to the american "model", open markets, politically correct, WOKEISM, capitalism, free movement of goods and people (mobility), open borders, corporatism, homologationism, privatism, feminism ecc. a model that help only the upper class expanding.. The European middle class is suffocating, that's why Europeans are turning right. For a nation like Italy that lives and prosper thanks to its own cultural identity is very hard to be part of an homologated collectivity, we are a dominant group of people with a strong tendency to shape the behavior of the people around us according to our point of view, this is the role history has given to us. The European continent is depopulating thanks to the perverse idea that a woman has to prefer her work career instead of following her maternal nature, that's why we need more migrants to compensate and sustain our economies creating a downward competition between the autochthonous and the migrants. Only if we are united accepting every single diversity of our beautiful European nations we can create a strong multipolar union, if we are homologated, dis-integrated, sterile and in competition between each other only the EU upper class can take the advantage out of it. About Poland... Yeah, the PiS government was reducing judicial independence, and *trying* to reduce press freedom, but I think the biggest problem was corruption and very advanced Kaczyński's personal cult maybe not at the state, but at the party level. Now we have a new government, which really made great steps in giving more press freedom, but they also just made the state television their propaganda tube, maybe not so aggressive, but very suggestive. About the Polish justice I'd say that thing: As long as PiS or PO are in power, the real justice reform Poles wait for won't happen, because many Polish judges (the best example is Tuleya, who got suspended for his political views, imo this action was right and justified, because he was *not* a neutral judge) just have their own political views and connections with political parties. About corruption, the last PO government was really less corrupt than the PiS one, so I hope this will go really better, but still I'm not sure about some of their politicians (for example ex-far-right Roman Giertych, who left the coalition with PiS).
