Idk about y'all but I relate cuz I've got borderline personality disorder. One of the symptoms is a tendency to take on the personality traits of the people you surround yourself with, and to frequently experience change in personality

Lol, I am a student of I-O psychology and I just have to say that not ALL personality tests are bs (but most are). The "big five" personality traits (conscientiousness, neuroticism, openness to experience, agreeableness and extraversion) have been validated by thousands of studies in psychology. So, I'd encourage you to do a big five test if you want one that's genuinely not BS!

Charlotte Holden i always tell people that the enneagram is not meant as a scientific thing like the big 5 or myers briggs. it’s a spiritual tool. that’s where it originated.

It’s also important to bare in mind that these traits can change across the life time to some degree. For example as people get older they tend to score higher for agreeableness and lower for openness to experience.

Did the short test and I am a type 4. Having done this before they are sooooo valuable. Not because you get to know yourself but you get to know and understand others and how they are different from yourself. Made a massive difference to my home and work life being able to better understand the other persons point of view 😁💁‍♂️

5 wing 4! I'm also an INTP, Ravenclaw, and a Pisces 😂. I personally find the Enneagram test to be the most productive of all the personality tests that I've tried. For example, the bit in the 5 paragraph where it talks about enjoying reliving something more than the actual experience. That's extremely true for me and so I am making an effort to be more in the moment instead of constantly analyzing things. I often need time to come to a conclusion about how I feel about something. And then it's always based on logic. So if someone asks me what I thought of a movie I have the tendency to talk about the historically accurate costuming and the cinematography and the sound score, etc, before I even mention whether or not I liked it! So yes, no personality test is perfect but they can be fun and insightful nonetheless.

Dodie's so right, I'm a nine and I think it's the worst one. I've taken different tests and almost every time I get a different answer which made me happy at first but then I realised it's such a nine thing to do to see myself in every number 😅

i did a free version of the test a few years ago and i believe i'm a 9?? i've heard that if you feel like you can relate to every single enneagram type in some way then you're a 9 and that's pretty accurate for me hahah. i remember i watched lucy moon's video about her being a type 9 too and i fully related to everything in it. might invest into doing the proper test though so i can actually find out what type i am.

I am a 7 and I did a narrative enneagram course and it was so helpful to accept my restlessness and understand how I am always looking on the bright side of everything and this can result in me accidentally, unintentionally suppressing my emotions instead of accepting my experience.

OMG the enneagram is by far my favorite of all personality tests (until i find another one, lol) I'm a 1, and I become a 4 when under stress (which I believe is why I relate so much to dodie's emotional music and content) and a 7 when I become excited! this is so cool, I now feel like I have a connection to both of you lol! also, if you ever felt like reading into it more, there are some great books that delve into the development of certain types through nature and nurture, beginning at birth! its so cool. And everyone should check out sleeping at last! even if you don't care at all about his enneagram series, which is amazing, all of his other songs and covers are so beautiful and help me calm down so much!

The Enneagram is my favorite of all the personality tests, because it feels the most like it could be accurate. I’m a 4 too! But a 5 wing which is very accurate for me. I didn’t expect the 4, since I originally took the test years ago and got a 9.

i'm a 6, (I think with equal wings) and while I've been really back and forth about my MBTI, I really relate to my enneagram (not that I know much abt it). I think its becos each enneagram results automatically gives you 4 types - wings & growth/stress (instead of just boxing u into one) and describes changing moods of humans better so you feel less "thats not me" and more "yes omg I relate"

your wing is how you manage/ express your core. you could also look into instinctual variants as that explains the variations with in a type. and even more you could look into to tritype. Im a 5w4 and a nerd of the enneagram

Hi! something i love about the enneagram is that you're supposed to be able to work out which one you are without taking a test, because we all have the potential for each core need/desire - it makes it feel less personality test-y and more like something you have to explore and learn about with regard to how you perceive yourself

I’m a type 9. I took the test for the first time about 5 years back and I got a 7, and was convinced of it, but I’ve grown and learned a lot about myself over the last few years and can see that I was trying to live up to some imposed idea of who I was to people more than trying to be myself. I just took it again recently and got type 9. I’m quite proud to be a 9. 😊

First did the enneagram in like 2013/14 and hadn’t looked at it in ages so decided to redo it and I got exactly the same : 6. Everything was almost the same except my next highest score had switched places with my 4th highest (5 to 2) which was interesting. Loved this video, love seeing my two KZbin favourites together 💘

Also after a conversation with Tessa, I looked it up and I concluded that I am a 5 (and reading through the descriptions that you had on screen here again, I got 5 again). I felt extremely called out, yet also very validated at points. Though I disagree with Dodie, I really like my type, and think it's great :P (when healthy at least...)

i hate when people call the enneagram nonsense when they just take a test. it’s not supposed to be a scientifically accurate tool used to be measure the population, it’s supposed to be a spiritual tool for personal and relational growth. you can’t just take the test, you have to delve deep into it for it to actually be useful. but when you do, it is extremely powerful and can be life changing.

I'm a 4w5! As a hardcore enneagram convert, the tests are so painful! Tests are a starting point, and reading more about the enneagram is the only way to confirm and understand your number. Giving you multiple numbers with scores is the test's way of encouraging you to explore those numbers first. Also, 4s go to 2 in stress, so you at your worst would sound a lot like a 2. And in my experience, wings are difficult to nail down. So glad you made the video :D

i’m a type 2 and i’m SUCH a type 2 like i’ll catch myself doing stuff or look back on things and am like “omg my type 2 is showing” and am genuinely embarrassed ?? I find it so so interesting and also especially that dodie came out as a type 2 because the way she gives back to her audience is such a type 2 thing but idk because obviously i don’t know her personally to know so 🤷‍♀️ this video was so interesting though so thank you for that !

I'm a 9 w 1! also I trust researching the types and identifying yourself over quizzes bc they're a lot more complex than some other personality types. For the longest time I thought I was a 6 w 5 bc that's what a test said but over time I've realised I identify more towards 9 (which goes to 6 in stress) also as far as I'm aware, you can have both wings, I think generally people tend to lean to one side more than the other

I took the official test and it told me i'm a 6 but im definitely a 5 (with a 4 wing nonetheless!) tests aren't the best way to determine your type bc its based on internal motivations which don't always translate! you know you better than a test! ur a 4 dodie!

i found the enneagram through dodie so i was unsure if i was identifying as 4 cuz she had talked about how SHE was a four but when i took it out of that context... like, i am a writer at heart and my desire is to be known and to be understood and to have a REASON to be alive and a reason to write and so the more i think about it in my own context the more it makes sense i know these tests can be silly but i think ultimately if they help you feel like you know yourself better and the way you fit into the world then its okay!!

I think the enneagram is the most accurate personality test that you can find on the internet (obviously not as accurate as "professional" done ones). I'm an 8 and once I found out which type I am it helped me so much to understand why I behave how I behave in some situations. I always thought I need to proof myself, don't show weakness, never back down - now I know, I can come on really strong and need to stay calm, especially during conflicts. Your wing isn't "fix", you can tend to the one or the other (I'm more a 8w7, but also have tendencies of 8w9). And no, you can't choose which type you want to be, your core fears and desires won't change just because you find another type more "attractive" (but maybe that behaviour also helps you to find out your type ^^).
