Israel's professional army is tiny. The majority are basically an extremely well-equipped, overconfident militia army. That's why you see infantry refusing to do really basic stuff. Also why, when you let them act without accountability, they do exactly what the IDF is doing now. Settlers, but in uniform, playing soldier. Trying to look cool on TikTok, whilst committing war crimes. Then hiding in APCs against basic logic, and using civilians to clear buildings of booby-traps. They aren't soldiers. We had militia police, and army units here in the north of Ireland before, and during the troubles. If you have seen civil rights marches being brutally beaten here during the 1960s, that's the militia police force or “B-Specials”. Sadly, there's nothing special about them, you see the same thing all over the world. It's the classic colonial play book. Group A is oppressing group B, so they need more boots on the ground, etc. It also reinforces fears of reprisals by group B for the actions of group A, in no small part because you personally have taken part in just such actions against group B. Everybody's hands are dirty, so once you're in, you're locked into the system.

And that is when both forces they fight are militias that has a proven track record of individual targeted violence against civilian populations, including their own. There is no other nation on the planet that defines themselves the way they do. Every other nation is the state of its citizens and residents. However they consider themselves not necessarily as the state of its residents, but rather the state of a specific ethnic group, no matter where in the world they reside. That means that a Palestinian who can trace his lineage their for nine generations, lives within Israel’s borders and has Israeli citizenship has less rights that a person who was born yesterday on the other side of the planet, and has never set foot there. Thats the meaning of Zionism, and there is no other national framework like that. And Captain isn't a high rank, it's only O-3. The equivalent NCO rank the the Marines would be Lance Corporal (which is the most common rank in corps). So, 22 sounds about right for Captains in the IDF. In the U.S. Marines it would be 27-ish for the average O-3 (need a 4 year degree).

Based on WHAT evidence other than this rhetoric validating your narrative of Israel. How can you say they deliberately target civilians and non combatants when the civilian death ratio to combatants is 2:1. This is better than almost every war fought. And this is also taking into account Hamas’ bogus reporting of casualties where they claim there’s over 40k deaths and make no distinction on how many of those are combatants (hint they claim 100% are civilians).
@Meme.hustlerАй бұрын
@@crispyboi8850 Wow you sound very naive. Where did you get that 2:1 ratio ? You must watch the videos and news from people living there, the idf indeed targets civilians especially children playing football. You say that hamas claims 100% are civilians but the idf says the thing in their favor that none were civilians and were all hamas in civil clothes. The hospitals and foreign aid CLAIM that those dead are civilians, not just hamas. The evidences are videos. When half of the 40k dead are children and women, it's indeed purposely done to make sure the children don't become terrorists in the future.
@crispyboi8850Ай бұрын
@@Meme.hustlerbunch of strawmen nonsense. The IDF does not claim they’ve killed 0 civilians, they assert that they do not target civilians. Clear distinction. Beyond that, they estimate they’ve killed approximately 17k militants. out of the 40k bullshit deathtoll claim (if we’re using Hamas figures) that’s a ratio of a little over 2:1. Hamas (a terrorist organization) controls all the information coming out of Gaza so you should take anything you hear from them with a grain of salt. How do those hospital workers assert if a body coming in is a civilian or not. They’re fucking terrorists- they are typically in plain clothes. Their weapons are stripped off of them. There is no way to know who is coming in that’s injured is a combatant or a civilian. It’s only clear when it’s a young child - which I can of course say is tragic that children are being caught in the crossfires of a war. You know, I was wondering how difficult or rigorous military service must be in Israel, and I just have to assume it cannot be compared to military service in places with a volunteer military, like America. I’ve seen many incompetent American soldiers, especially under fire when you expect those things to happen, because you’re being shot at and adrenaline is flowing. But the shit I’ve seen from the IDF is pretty insane. It’s kind of the same as the Afghan army when it was being first trained, they just make such silly mistakes that you’d think, with proper training, they wouldn’t make anymore. This just leads me to believe that the IDF isn’t very disciplined and they get off on shooting unarmed civilians and children, but shit their pants and fumble when they come muzzle to muzzle with Hamas. Why else would they go scorched earth and bomb everything, including aid workers and hostages, everywhere they can? It’s so god damn horrible. It really shows how Israel mostly relies on American arms to be effective in any way, without Americas help, they’d be one of the weakest powers in the region. Yet they pride themselves as the strongest in the region, but not because of their soldiers or training, they’re pitiful. They are delusional.

Nothing conpletely compensates for poor doctrine and poor leadership but unit level training goes a long way. It is clearly partly out of knowledge that the troops are largely raw that the strategy has been so disproportionately about indiscriminate bombing and blunt force instruments such as starvation and disease, mass terror and dislocation.
