Colion Noir Exposes the Under-the-Table Business of Homelessness
"Talking to the people that I've talked to, I realized that there is a petri dish of ideologies that a lot of people have, and they run the spectrum from complete anarchy to complete socialism. And because I don't think it's sustainable, one thing is going to happen: It's just going to collapse on itself."
From the filth on the streets to the filth in city hall, Colion Noir pulls the mask off the city of San Francisco, exposing the real reasons behind a homelessness epidemic that's only getting worse.

Mostly it’s the over privileged whiny snowflake social justice a holes and the gig workers from fucking everywhere that’s come here to live in the high rise economy because they work in tech jobs and the crap state and city politicians pander to the big buck earners, the Chinese who buy their way over the border (not our beloved native Chinese) and the huge monopoly tech companies that attract developers from North Carolina for example, who build crap ugly huge apartment buildings and destroy our culture replacing it with Lego look construction. H1b workers on visas who work here in jobs Americans could have but teachers who could instruct cant afford the rent...Have a little heart dude. We live with this crap you hate and we hate it too.

I am too, it's a really dull city now. Just filled with a bunch of overly sensitive, social justice warriors, who take themselves too seriously. Anytime they find out I'm from SF, theyre always telling me how they love 'my' city, and how rare it is to find someone from here (why do you think?). They are irritating snowflakes, what comes to mind are these tools wearing a neon allbody spandex suit when going to bay to breakers with the most punchable face while they're drunk off mimosas. And screw avocado toast for $13. It's just not worth living here anymore, yeah it pays more than other cities but it's super bland. The homelessness is something I've always witnessed so I'm so desensitized to it. Almost all the Latinos, and blacks have left. You just see a bunch of obnoxious trust fund babies from Europe, Asia, or the east coast. It just sucks from so many different angles.

Myself, my dad and brother are currently all homeless because we cant afford to live in the city of our birth. My brother cant afford to live in the very apartments he helped build.... should never have been that many govt jobs in the first place. Most all are welfare only jobs. They rob you and me with taxes to pay them (the govt does not have it's own money, just the $ they collect from us by force through taxes). Millions of Americans are employed in govt jobs paid for with yours and my, (assuming you work & pay taxes), forced labor, which makes me a slave to the govt. I resent being a slave but have no choice (since I'm a productive person) because the govt will also arrest me or attach my wages anyway.

not sure we can do anything. maybe it is true that all govts consume themselves eventually. So hang on tight buddy for the ride because the slaves will eventually rise up and then they will fuck up by creating a new govt. Most people just have to have someone telling them what to do. My family is Cuban and we can't help but notice how the newer (Cuban) arrivals are rude, uneducated, they litter, and are living as if they were still in Cuba with no desire to become "American" in the true sense. I'm in my 30s, a veteran, very grateful to be a goddamn American, and know how to be polite to others. I can't say the same for the VAST majority of new arrivals. I begrudge unfair, unequal taxes. ( however I don't mean raise the tax on the wealthy, We can raise tax money by ending loop holes. I am all for a flat tax, no deductions. no earned income credit. You didn't pay in you don't get any money out. Let's be transparent on giving people finical help. Can't be transparent when a person get's earned income credit or child credit to get more money back then they paid in. Like I said I am low middle income person. Before taxes I made 50,000, just my federal tax bill was was over $7000, then I had State, over $1000, city about $350, Social Security tax, medicare tax. Oh I got a penalty of $63 because I didn't have enough taxes paid out. So after all the pay roll taxes my gross was under $40,000, now I pay medical insurance ( Dental, eye ) I pay 6% on most all goods I buy. Car insurance highest in the nation. My point is a flat tax, no loop holes for any one. first say $35,000 for single 70,000 for married no tax. then two three brackets. 10% up to 70,000 single, 100,000 married, then 18% then 22% this includes everyone. Oh two deductions. Charity for all, and a % for business who purchase new equipment or remodels. That's it. Then taxes can be done on a post card.

It's what happens when you invite millions of illegals and expect government to fix everything. The housing problem is too many people and the government doesn't allow for enough new homes. It can take up to 5 years to be approved to build an apartment building or 5 years to find out you can't. It's a cluster fuck of red tape, taxes and pay outs. It's the typical outcome of socialism.

@Blackmanonafence Since you said that, there's something I want to point out. Human nature was a misconception created to fill the void about the misunderstanding about humans. Genetics are predispositioned towards certain behaviors that adapt to what works within our environment. There are no predetermined genes, all genes can be manipulated and all behavior is learned through environmental adaptation. This means that human nature is adaptability and we are molded by our environment and when you put this train of thought together, everything starts to make a whole lot of sense. If you have an economic system based on scarcity, you have a recipe for competition. If you have a recipe for competition, you get war, labor exploitation, social imbalance, inequality, unsustainability, survival of the fittest, classism, power consolidation, owners of everything. We have to change the underlying precondition of our society using technology and science to a post-scarcity society. We are not running out of anything but the resources we are using and depleting that keep this current economy going yet we are destroying the Earth in the process. Resources are as abundant as the efficiency and renewability of the design itself. The mechanisms that tell us whether our economy is good or bad are the same mechanisms that reward behavior that goes with the grain of the Earth and it's preservation, with collaboration and care for each other and everything that keeps us thriving.

Axegrinder 396 but how was SF before the big companies moved in? I really think it’s a disservice how people blame, “ liberalism,” but will happily look the other way when talking about the contributing “capitalist,” factor on the problem ( Real estate investors and giant tech companies driving up the price of everything.) colion does gloss over it but puts greater emphasis on the social program aspect of it. You can’t have a homeless problem if you don’t have giant companies driving up the price of everything.
@axegrinder3969
@axegrinder3969 5 жыл бұрын
Aw3someOpZ it’s a combination of both. Big tech driving up prices definitely contributes to the problem, but SF’s liberal policies enable this mayhem. Taxpayer dollars funding free needle giveaways, shelters with 24hr nurses on duty where junkies can shoot up without fear of arrest. Last I heard heroin use was illegal. Not in SF apparently. SF has always been expensive. But it mostly definitely has not been this much of a dump.

Well then, it will be cheaper, better and more accountable if we had private police services (since they have no recourse to individuals, or to the public as stated in Castle Rock v. Gonzalez and in Warren v. DC). Think of a product or service and then pull it away from market forces, and you'll see it degrade in quality and raise in price (think letter carrying, or those roads you love so much, and now health insurance since it's practically forced purchasing with the individual mandate).

I remember back in the early 80's when a two bedroom Apt. in S.F. was $750 a month... Easily affordable for two workers earning in the lower-mid pay scale at the time... People who worked in city services, secretary's, lower level managers, people who worked in markets & industry for example...All those people who work in those services now live outside of the city & commute. There is no middle/ lower middle class actually 'living' in San Francisco now, unless they are in government assisted housing. Period.

I work on electric vehicles, I went to S.F. for several weeks to assist on a project and I stayed at an AirBnB in Soma. At the end of the block I found a full drug kit on the sidewalk, two doors down from a families house where kids were playing. When I sway full drug kit, I mean needles and drugs and everything you need to shoot up. One of my colleagues slipped on human feces on the sidewalk, thankfully she's an athlete and caught herself before falling into it. I watched a homeless man shave his head in the middle of the street, his pile hair was still sitting there a week later. I watched a woman shoot up in a partially collapsed tent on a corner where cops literally drove past her and everyone ignored her. While I was there I visited some high school friends who have lived there for 24 years, they told me that if they moved these rent controlled apartments would be so expensive they wouldn't be able to afford to live there because the rent would go up by 200%. Think about that, Two Hundred Percent. The tech company I was assisting was having gourmet meals and coffee delivered every morning and lunch time, we had our own private, climate controlled and secure offices to work in. But the assembly and repair people were literally drinking instant coffee and shitting in porta-potties. The assembly and repair area literally smelled like a third world country. No exaggeration. Several times I made a point to walk back to my AirBnB simply because S.F. has turned into a city that I didn't even recognize and I have been there many times before. The apocalypse has already happened there and it is seriously disgusting. I've been all over the world, I've been to places where people still live in the stone age and I can honestly say that S.F. is one of the most disgusting places I've ever seen.

@@dougroyce5784 The solution? The west coast needs someone a lot smarter than my 143 I.Q. point ass to figure that out. It's a complete trainwreck. I have some vague ideas of how to get started, like, lower taxes, try to re-attract the businesses and middle class they scared away, deport illegals, fire 50% of their bloated, worthless government, streamline it for efficiency, not "good feelings"... But, I know I'm not fully qualified to fix it. I know my knowledge is far from complete. I have some ideas, that's it. Not quite the cohesive answer you wanted, but it's not a cohesive trainwreck.

Great video, I live in San Francisco and the way you frame the situation and show various perspectives is really valuable. The one thing I'd add though is there are still a lot of perspectives that weren't shown. I would've liked to hear from some of the homeless camping out in the alleyway behind my TL appartment, or from some of the high 5-figure non-programmer types working at the tech companies here who are struggling in the middle of the problem - as well as some of the six-figure folks at Google/Facebook who live/party in the city and what their outlook is.

Why don't the poor people just leave? There are far, far, far less expensive places. San Francisco is insanely expensive. There is no rule that says they should have to house you. It's just like anything else. If you can't afford the most expensive car, you get a cheaper car. I you can't afford to live in Frisco, you go elsewhere. Everyone points their finger at San Franciso government and they are right, but these same people will vote those same people right back in at the next election.

It's not about not being able to afford living in SF - everywhere in the US it still costs you to move or establish yourself somewhere new and without any resources that is literally impossible. While there are absolutely tight connections being homelessness and poverty, it's worth noting the legitimate homelessness is a separate issue from poverty by itself (which is also still big). Finally it's not all the same people voting for these substandard social programs and/or lack of decent resources for the truly impoverished of us - it's a corrupt in-group of elites who manage the local and regional political influence far more than average citizens, let alone those with nothing to their name who should focus on staying alive/improving their personal life before politics anyway.

Expensive cities need to figure out how to maintain a mix of income levels because they still need people to staff low income jobs. The market will take care of this to a certain extent but bottom line is that someone, somewhere needs to be doing the one thing which LOWERS rents, building housing. Notice though that this is the one thing that we aren't doing and put up massive barriers in the way of doing so. What if Frisco used that cash just to build housing and set the rents at non-profit levels? I guarantee that the low income housing problem would be solved but then landlords and homeowners would lose money. This is why they are saying there is no incentive to solve the problem. They just want to appear like they care.

I rented a two bedroom apartment in Indianapolis for $395.00 a month from a private landlord in an over the garage apartment with a long lease and my SSI check easily covers that and I moved there from Tampa Bay Florida where the same place would cost well over twice that. There are lots of places to live if one looks around but you need to be willing to work or be on some kind of support like me, not be an addict or drunk or be unwilling to assimilate into normal society and fit in well enough. How many of these people will do that?
