I'm looking forward to seeing the video. One question, though: Why is the resolution so bad? 360p is the most I can get (I am a premium member of YT), and I would love to see the video in a higher resolution. Is there any chance you could fix that? Or is it out of your control? 😊

The people who feel entitled to others property just for existing and will use force against them for it, calling people who want to keep what they earned "selfish" is one of the richest things of all time.

Great interview. One of the most interesting things Gad has said - in many interviews including this one, is his grappling to understand why people are so set in their ways and how difficult it is for them to re-set their ideas and beliefs EVEN IF they know they’re on the wrong track…. I think this should be a whole new topic of research and conversation. And it probably lies in the concept of “belonging” to a tribe, or cult, or family, or community… and needing much courage to leave them when you realise you need to.

You have to remember that many people actually believe that “feelings “ ARE facts , if you feel something it IS true . I have a good friend who believes that cops in America kill several thousand unarmed black men monthly and NO showing her statistics changes her mind . She “feels “ it so it is true .

I think there is a thing arising that is being recognized and named. Saad is calling it suicidal empathy, Allie Beth Stuckey just published a book called Toxic Empathy. The idea is that “love” and “care” have been co-opted and perverted into a performative demonstration of moral superiority or purity. To refuse to engage and support people in their delusions or expectations of preference because of their self-attributed victimhood is to be unloving and uncaring. It is very difficult to counter someone’s presumption of their own virtue.

Great guest..his ability to distill academic concepts down to everyday language is getting even better! He fantastically provides “light unto the nations.” He’s like a secular Jewish rabbi professor. Like a secular academic Rabbi Jonathan Sacks. Love it. Gadeleh, keep wrapping that tefellin, whether you believe or not.

It's not too late for Canada if we mobilize now. I noticed the craziness of the woke maybe 5 years. I only realized in the past year that others noticed too and were speaking out against it. I am so relieved. I no longer afraid of losing my job for not conforming. I believe I have a responsibility to speak up!

I feel like the conversation about religion leaves the elephant in the room unaddressed. Yes, we can agree that religion has benefits. I fully buy into that and I subscribe to the teachings of my religion and participate to a huge extent. But being an atheist is not just about that. Its about believing in God. And yes, I can agree its helpful to believe in God but one cannot just decide to believe in God simply because its helpful. This is where I side with Dawkins. He simply doesnt believe that God exists and he has every reason not to believe. And people like Rubin (and I've seen many) will talk about how they've become believers and they'll only mention to logistical benefits of religion, such as a sense of belonging and community, but they never mention how they started to believe in God. In fact, some will still admit that they do not. It almost seems like they want to be in the "cool kids club" of the centrist/anti-woke/right-ish side of the aisle by saying they believe but they actually dont. On the other hand, I really respect Dr. Saad's views on his participation in his religion because he is very honest about it.

My two cents as a former Leftie, is the Democrat Party in the U.S. right now is super captured by foreign interests and ideologies. Given the rise in far leftist agendas which are falling off the grid of reason, the Universities hyper religious-level socialist environments, I think we are in need of strong, Clear unwavering Pro-American, Pro-Western civilization Leaders. And we are far more likely at the moment to find these characteristics in the Republican party. Conservatives are standing ground much more firmly on the issues that are a threat to our consciousness. Because many powers are currently taking advantage of our political kindness, and tolerance, in order to subvert and weaken our nation. Democrats are either blind right now to these elements, or are bought by them. So, my advice, is vote for strong rational conservatives for the next 5-10 years, overall. Hope this helps.

What these two and Jordan Peterson and Sam Harrison don’t get, regardless of any intellectual brilliance is what is at the heart of religion. Belief means you don’t know. Awakening takes you beyond belief or doubt and into the realm of direct perception of reality. That’s been the transformative experience of the Buddha and many masters since. Faith takes you to the threshold but then you must step beyond. After that you know, that’s all.
