Exr-IO Autodesk Maya / Arnold - Photoshop tutorial

In this tutorial we will learn how to interchange OpenEXR image file from Maya to Photoshop. For the full EXR image support, we will use Exr-IO (www.exr-io.com), from 3d-io, and establish an easy to understand workflow for professional productions. The main goal is to work in Photoshop as other do it with Nuke and Fusion.

If you dont get the same Colors when you switch to 16-bit you need to create a Icc-Profile in Photoshop that is a linear RGB not like the standard 2,2 gamma srgb

If I switch to 16-bit my color look so much brigther and the overlayed passes dont look anything like the beauty shot. Does anybody now why?

When I go to open the EXR image, I get the default Photoshop EXR import dialog asking how much gamma was applied to the image; nothing for EXR-IO appears. Anyone know what I may be doing wrong?

When I open image with Exr-IO everything is locked and I can not edit the image. What should I do? Thank you in advance

What does it mean "Everything is locked"? If i read your mind, i would say you are in 32bit color mode, and therefore you can not edit anything. this is not a problem of EXR-IO, but of how you work in and with Photoshop. Some actions work in Photoshop in 32bit, but magic wand, filters etc does not. Please convert your image to 16bit or consult the Photoshop manual to learn more about 32bit and 16bit image processing workflow.
