2:06 Form 7 was developed back then just not the vapaad variation. We know this because Darth Malak was a practitioner of Form 7 along with form 2.

Revan was a master of all seven forms, he used form 6 niman as the base and then implemented the form that suted the situation so he could go from being defensive and static like form 3 to aggresivenes and acrobatics like form 4 instantly, thats what made him one of the best duelist in the lore of star wars

Revan's insatiable hunger for knowledge and mastery would suggest that he mastered all the forms. Wouldn't his endless skill set of dark and light side abilities by the time of his attempt on the emperor make him transcend all traditional lightsaber forms? If we simply call it form VI does that downplay his capabilities as a force wielder? He went up against many situations that no other jedi or sith using a traditional lightsaber form can boast.

Pretty sure Juyo was around during Revan's time. Treya mentions it in KOTOR 2 when Revan was alive

I reckon Revan was a Form 6 specialist, with roots in Form 5 Shien. Dual blades isn't solely indicative of a Jar'Kai specialist, it's also incorporated in Forms 4 and 6. I say Form 6 because of his use of the Force. And I say Form 5 Shien because of official artwork showing him with a reverse grip. This isn't to say he didn't have some level of expertise with the other forms, just that I believe him to prefer this way of fighting.

According to word of god, Revan was proficient in all seven lightsaber forms, but he preferred Form VI: Niman in combat and incorporated elements from other forms.

In lore and from other commenters revan was said to have mastered the form 6 niman which was the form to adapt to any situation.

Actually juyo was around during the time of Revan. Malak used it and it can be taught to the Jedi Exile character in kotor 2.

@@RageBoxMan Also just my opinion but at 8:08 that's not a form 3 stance. Soresu is often done like that with one hand out. That is more like how Palpatine was in his stance after doing the scream before stabbing the first jedi I can't remember the name of. So I'd say that's probably Juyo more likely. I'm writing a Star Wars fanfic version of Kotor myself and think you have a good idea. Though my problem with the makashi theory is that in the kotor game the only Makashi like move is stabbing the foe. In the game almost all attacks are two handed while Makashi is usually one handed. Though in Kotor 2 it allows you to scroll through the forms and use Makashi, though it doesn't look like it and all the moves are the same in game, switching the form just grants greater bonuses of offense and defense based on the situation. Also going by what I know, Shi Cho is actually better suited to battle against melee weapons, while Makashi is meant for lightsaber to lightsaber. You might think of Melee weapons and lightsabers as the same which they kind of are but not quite. Still I think Makashi would have the advantage over a weapon like a heavy vibrosword since it is lighter and quicker. Could be. Pity that in the Kotor games the moves didn't get any different for the forms.

“It’s very hard to find any mention of lightsaber forms when it comes to the old republic” ? Kotr/i/ii/old republic are the ones that seem to first mention it decades ago. Everyone else is just riding on what they wrote and created. Bioware/Obsidian are definitive SW canon. Rest are all newbie Disney SW crap

he mastered all forms of lightsaber combat but exclusively used for 6, because he already mastered all forms he was able to seamlessly adapt to any situation using the nuances of form 6, switching to a powerful offense to a unyielding defense in an instant.

Revan, Darth Revan I'd probably the best Jedi, sith ever. He had the idea of the rule of 2 aswell. He was a tank. On the Star Wars mobile game heroes everyone has him light/dark as there leader nearly every team and it's a hard team.

Although darth revan didn't create the rule of 2 he was the one who influence the sith'ari darth bane into the idea of the rule of 2 especially with helping him create the force bomb that destroyed the other sith so that the rule of 2 could exist and hence what bound the chosen one darth vader into a sith lord. Hence you could say that a majority of star wars along with the fate of both the chosen one of the light vader and the sith'ari of the dark side darth bane was all cause by darth revans actions which is pretty bad ass in my opinion.

Revan was a master at using all forms saber combat. Ranging from dueling, to solo his fighting abilities. He also had a saber exactly like Darth Mauls. However, he was a master at all forms.

Yeah many agree Revan was a Niman master. It makes the most sense especially since he was a dual wielder. Shi-Cho too basic considering everything he did in his careeer Makashi not suited for multiple opponents or dual wielding Soresu a Sith could never really make full use of this form due to needing to have a calm focused mind Ataru possibly due to its aggression but considering he was constantly fighting wars and on the battlefield alot its physical demands would be a big issue Shien/Djem So also a good possibility due to being well rounded and suited for both blaster and Lightsaber opponents both of which Revan would fight a lot but he did seem to use force abilities alot in his style Niman again most likely his preferred form. Many say its lack of advantages make it weak but most of its wielders only make basic attempts to learn it and true master's like Revan and Exar Kun and Starkiller can more then make up for those weaknesses. Juyo though a preferred Sith Style Revan most likely didn't have much practice in it. He spent most of his time as a Jedi who typically forbid the study of the form and after becoming a Sith he was focused on the Star forge and his conquest of the Republic so I don't think he would have had the time to learn and master this style.

No there are only 7 and Revan knew all 7 Shien is not the same as Djem So Djem So is focused on physical dominance and redirection of enemy sword attacks to crush opponents using his size and their strength against them. Shien focused on redirection of blaster fire against multiple opponents...Form 2 was used used for advanced blade to blade combat but wasn't any good against multiple opponents. Form 3 probably wasn't used all that much...as Form V has elements of Form 3 in it. As for Form IV...only the martial arts and physical aspect would've been looked at. Form VI is just a combination of the previous Forms...and VII that is the most aggressive parts of Ataru and Shien/Djem So...just using The Dark Side fuel his Power.

Pretty sure form seven was a thing when revan was alive. But mace windu created vaapad, a form seven variant. Correct me if im wrong.Still love the video though

Yeah after some further research that seems to be the case. I was always taught it was the former that Mace invented the whole form. At any rate, it really doesn't seem like Revan practiced form 7 anyway, but I could be wrong. xD

I was gonna ask if you were interested in doing Star Wars versus matchups in a similar style to Antoine Bandele, Jensaraai1 or EvanNova95. They pitch one Force users against another (though there have been a few 2v2 or 1v1v1 matches), they analyze their life history, physical attributes, Force powers, martial arts (which can go further than just lightsaber forms at times) and equipment, before reaching a verdict. Your pronounciation of some forms is wonky and your knowledge a bit hit or miss, but you seem very passionate about Star Wars, and if you have enough material, maybe you could do it too.

I thought form 7 was Juyo or Vaapad. It was a form that drew off of Darkside emotions and force. Mace windu was the master of this form and most practioners of form 7 usually fall to the darkside like almost all of windus apprentices.

@@RageBoxMan Mace invented a variant of Form 7 called Vaapad. Form 7 Juyo has been around for a long time. In KotOR 2, one of the lightsaber forms you can learn is Juyo, and in SWTOR, I think the Sentinel and Marauder classes can learn it.
