God, crazy to see Adam pre X play days. I grew up on these video game shows. Such a magic time for the industry and us the audience at home

God I would stay up late when I was 9 to 15 watching gamespottv, then it became this, then xplay. This channel probably raised my love for gaming 10 fold. I had always been a gamer since I had a nes at like 4. However these shows, Arena, Screensavers, judgement day, reviews on the run, etc really raised it so much. I'm not going to be one of those older gamers (34) that is going to say "gaming was so much better back then" as I love gaming to this day warts and all. That being said I have so much nostalgia for this time. It was just simpiler. We just loved to game, we didn't care about fps as much, resolutions, etc. I didn't get into that until later when I became a PC only gamer years later (still mostly am but have a ps5). Even console gamers have gotten caught up in it these day. We use to play games in the low 20fps range sometimes. Now I cry if it goes below or near 60 fps lol. I remember playing 4 screen Goldeneye and I think they recorded that well below 20 fps lol. Never really even noticed it back then. 90% of it is nostalgia for me though. People say all the time they wish we could go back to this time but I don't. We have some truly spectacular games these days. We didn't have the souls games, the Skyrims, Starfields, the evolution of so many games. I love gaming today. Sure there are some shitty warts on it, but they were there in different forms back then. Like I said we cry about 30 fps today, but it was worse many times back then, we cry about 6 hour games now but we have 100 hour games too, back then not that often. We cry about 70 bucks for a game.....shit I remember my mom paying over 100 for some snes games and trust me the only reason they were long is because I was a kid. Not much to those games really (still great for the time). Some hate how important story has become, I'm not one of them. I appreciate the time devs put into some of these games. Like The Last of us games.....holy shit or New Vegas, BG3......There are so many games out there today. If you are one of those that bitches about gaming today and likes to act like there aren't many good games....you are either due for a new hobby or aren't even trying. There is something for everyone. If you can't find 5 to 10 games a year at least that interest you across the bored (A, AA, AAA) then IDK what to say.

Interesting you uploaded an archive/pre-broadcast cut! I totally forgot I used to always pass in mono mixes exactly like this for years ago, VO/Actors on the left, SFX/foley on the right.

Looking for the episode they talked about Dance Dance Revolution (Arcade) for the 2nd time. I think we have an upload of how it was first presented, but one from summer of 2001 had more information like how to play.
