You should try a defense palico in prowler mode. They have a sort of adept guard similar to adept lance, quite fun.

So I've heard! I'll have to give those, the adept dodge, and the "beast" cats a try sometime once I figure out how to build them up right.

This hunt looked very competent! It took me quite a while to get the hang of Prowler, and I mostly attack with melee instead of boomerangs. It'll be nice to see you add Prowler as a regular option for hunts going forward

Oop- Ristretto without commentary makes me feel like smth is wrong- Either way, love your vids, actually impressed by your hunts too, considering it all reminds me of the time I actually truly played through my first MonHun game (which strangely was MHP3rd-) Either way, love your vids, I love content like this, thank youuu!!!

Thanks so much for the kindness! I had a sore throat this past week, so I wasn't able to record as much commentary as I wanted. Happy to still share some hunting/enjoying of MH, though. Also, P3rd is maybe the one best "sweet spot" to start the series - very cool that's where you got your start! It's just old and clunky enough around the edges that you could then go backward to MHFU if you really wanted to without *too* much issue, but it's also just "new enough" to still feel a lot like MH3U, MH4U, and MHGen. Very special little game. :)

@RistrettoMH My only problem with P3rd is that it's Japan exclusive ;w; I had to find a translation patch online to actually fully experience the game, but hey, at least I had a ton of fun playing through it, I still remember Amatsumagatsuchi and Alatreon being my favourite fights at the time :3 It was definitely the BEST nearly 300+ hours of playtime I've ever had in a game

Totally! It would’ve been awesome if they released it in English at some point. I played through it awhile back & thoroughly enjoyed myself. The double Zinogre hub quest is one of my all time favorite quests in the series. Just a fun challenge to go up against. :)

@@RistrettoMH Oooh! The double Jinouga hunt was also really really cool! Rahh, I still cannot forget like, that one super difficult near endgame quest they give you in... I think it was 5* village??? It was the one you unlock after beating all the arena hunts/epic hunting quests, and Jhen Mohran Iirc it was named "The Last Supper" or something, it was basically a High Rank Jho, and a Tigrex and Narga double fight after Jho, I remembered trying the quest for the first time and I got obliterated ;v; Eventually I beat it though (granted I was already using Escadora gear (Alatreon stuff) by the time I did it...) it was definitely the one fight that made me think of Monster Hunter not as just a game series, but something I'd genuinely fall in love with, sadly I can't really play any of the newer titles because... the funny thing we call the economy- Either way, I'm glad that I could talk about my favorite game in the series again

I get what you mean about that difficult quest being a pivotal hunting moment for you. I feel like some of my "all time great" hunts like that have been seared into my brain - the blood, sweat, potions, tears that go into actually getting a tough clear like that. So good. :) Thanks for the well wishes, as well. I'm glad you found the channel, too - always happy to chat with folks who love MH!
