Because of Extra Tough’s industrial strength, it can be highly diluted for different needs. For best product performance, always used distilled or demineralized water when diluting. Here are my suggested dilution ratios:
Stainless steel and general cleaner: 1 to 2 tablespoons of Extra Tough to 30/32 oz of water.
For wheel wells, soiled carpets or upholstery: 7:1
General interior use: 20:1
Leather seats: 7:1
As a wheel cleaner, tire cleaner, and engine bay cleaner: 1:1
Bug remover: 7:1
For use as a general car wash: 7:1 or 10:1
To strip older waxes and sealants: 2:1, 1:1 or full strength.
*Extra Tough can spot or brighten polished aluminum. Always test on an inconspicuous area before using. Extra Tough has a lab certificate stating it is readily biodegradable.

I find it greatly eliminates the amount of brushing done on the tires. What used to be a maximum of 3 passes comes down to only one pass using Extra Tough. Saved me on time and my back. I'm glad you provided the dilution ratios which does make the initial cost more bearable. Great job!!!

I have been using Extra Tough Multipurpose Cleaner since Wilson Auto Detailing demonstrated this product. It has been a huge staple in my auto detailing. I use it on my personal cars as well as others and have been very impressed with how safe it is to use. I also use it around my house for exterior washing and for stain removal on clothes. The results have been amazing. When you buy it from their site, they include a dilution chart. If you follow the chart, you will not be dissappointed and the gallon goes a long way. The smell is not offensive and the customer service is outstanding. As a long time user of this product, I can testify to how effective and safe it is to use. I love it and highly recommend it.

I have been using Extra Tough for about three months in my detailing business and it has replaced Meguiar’s APC, SuperClean and Simple Green. This is a really versatile product that does not have the strong fumes when sprayed using a 1:1 dilution. Outstanding as a strip wash to remove waxes & sealants and you don’t have to worry about how long it stays on the clearcoat. Powerful degreasing action for engine bays and cleaning grimy, greasy wheels. Saves me time cleaning floor mats and it will not discolor plastic or vinyl surfaces. The product is packaged with great care so it will not leak during shipment and you get the full amount you paid for. Very economical when you calculate the cost using the different dilution ratios.

My gallon of this fine product came in today. I just tested it out on an older Honda Odyssey that we have for miscellaneous transporting of couches/dump runs, etc. This product works like a charm. I used it diluted 1:1 for the tires and wheels. It really cleaned the tires and wheels with very little effort. I did the engine bay with it as well. Very good stuff. Georgia Mel-Tex I just got it in and I had just finished the exterior. So I used it on the door jams. I diluted it and used it on the door panel and dash. It did alright. I used a drill brush on the jams and it did a great job. The client was amazed at the difference. So far a great investment.

I don't see my previous question so I will repeat it. How to get grease off a rubber truck mat under a propane food smoker? I applied it with a 1:1 ration yesterday and I re-applied it again today. It did a pretty good job. I'm guessing this was a 2-year buildup, so I can't expect perfection. I have a kayak that was spent 1000-hours in Lake Tahoe and it easily removed all the water marks. 15% off still worked. Unfortanely the US Post Office didn't live up to its 2-day delivery and put it sideways in the mailbox, even though it was marked this side up on all 4-sides. Good news its was packed perfectly and didn't leak.

My the most favorite APC are Koch Chemie GreenStar and Bilt Hamber Surfex HD. i can dilute them both how I need and price of Koch is very low, just 6€ for a liter of concentrate. Pan, you can try this German brand, I recomend it. :) Nice video by the way ;)

Hey Pan, thanks for the great content. Ive always loved the cleaning power of super clean but it has one major pitfall in my opinion.. it bleaches concrete. Even when diluted, when you wet down the concrete you can see the tire outlines. Same thing with floor mats. After cleaning you can see an outline of the floor mat on the concrete. Do you happen to know if this product does the same thing? Thanks in advance!

Super Clean doesn't really work much at a ratio up 1oz Product to 32 oz H2O. For the need to be gentle, Extra Tough works quite well. Super Clean and Extra Tough have their places, but for regular maintenance, Extra Tough.

Hi Pan. Sorry this question is off video topic. My wife’s 2012 Volvo XC90 has the tan leather interior and well the leather hasn’t held the tan color very well in the front 2 seats. There are light spots. I was thinking about re-dying the front two seats. Do yo have any suggestion of either alternatives to dying or which product to use to dye the seats with. 8:38 Uh Pan, did you take a look at those door hinges? Thanks for the link, I will have to check this out. My trouble area has to be the wheel wells. My tire is too close to get a brush in there and I have been looking for something I can spray and and remove with the pressure washer. I've tried just about everything and while it looks clean at first, that white film comes back unless I agitate it with a microfiber towel. I can get everything else clean, just those dang wheel wells. My next product to try was going to be the foaming stuff like engine degreaser.

Hey Brandon! I just picked up a 2020 M24i from South Motors. I live in Cutler Bay. To answer your question, you gotta research it yourself. I have ceramic coating on mine, so I know I have to wash it a certain way. I learned lots of stuff just from watching Pan and others like him. But really dude, the best way is to learn it by watching lots of videos from quality bloggers, and reading up on product reviews. Good luck!

It was $10k for a 2013 335i m sport that runs great, but I don't think i can afford the maintenance costs coming up as I have little savings at the moment. I might end up going with a civic or so but I'll see what happens.

What are your thoughts on Sodium Hydroxide/Caustic Soda being in the product? I don’t know much about chemistry myself but it seems like some people see this as a potential issue for long time use.

Sodium hydroxide is only a problem when the levels are really high. A lot of soap based products use it because thats how you make soap. This stuff can dry on car paint and get rinsed off. So...judge for yourself. I use it all the time and have no issues.

Hey pan does 1:1 work better for you for tires ? Bought a gallon can't wait to use it. They send me a chart which says 7:1 for tires that's why im asking. Also for road film what would be best dillution? Thanks pal

Hi ruejey 747...tires....the product is very versatile. The dilutions are up to you. I use 7:1 on tires that are not hammered. If you want a one-time wipe with instant black, go higher. A lot of it is up to the end user and what they want to see. Some detailers use 10:1, others 5:1 etc...I hope you enjoying using it! Extra Tough LLC

Yes that is fine. Anything between 1000 to 2000 psi is fine for washing cars.

Good stuff albeit pricey Edit: when you used 1:1 as a presoak you only showed wiping it off with a towel. Assuming you eventually rinsed it off? Did have a issue with a residue left behind?

Again, does it have any toxic smell at all Pan?, because that’s what I don’t like about products like this, right now I’m using CG Nonsense as APC because of that, but it’s not that strong IMO. You mean for a pre-treat? I wouldn't recommend using this all the time on a coated car, just for the stubborn road film maybe once a month. A 10:1 dilution is a good starting point, up to 7:1.

Pan quick quiestion. Is the maguiar's synthetic xpress wax considered a ceramic coating as well as the turtle wax ice seal and shine? I ask beacause am not suere if I should apply IPA before. Since that is apply (according to you) before ceramic coating.

Xpress Wax is just a spray wax. You don’t have to IPA before applying it.

It’s always important to use an IPA after the last polishing stage. It removes polishing oils and allows a better bond of waxes, sealants or coatings.

You say it can be used to strip wax and sealants, but what about using this after polishing to clean up the residue left behind? This is much cheaper than Carpro Eraser and Gyeon Prep, so I'm extremely curious to see a match up between these "prep" solutions.

This is not an IPA. I would still use a proper paint prep or IPA to remove polishing oil and residue.
