Extracting caffeine from caffeine pills

Hello, everyone, this is the first time that I put up 2 videos at the same time!
In this video, we extract some caffeine from caffeine pills. I was not happy with my yield of caffeine in the previous videos, so I chose a better source. I managed to get 8.5g of nice clean caffeine!

Actually it's not that potent than everybody claims. When I had my finals I took about 500-700mg at some days and it basically just made me tired as soon as the push you gain from it started to decrease 😂

You could also run it through a silica column after slight acidification. Practically all food colorings are retained, and the caffeine should move through.

I did caffeine from tea. My yield was terrible as i made a crap cup of tea back then and was a terrible organic chemist :P

I absolutely love your videos, man! To what extent can you perform at-home chemistry? Simply learning about it at college and performing a few extremely rushed labs are cool and all, but application obviously seems for one, more fun, and secondly, it gives a better understanding of reactions and how to actually use them. Besides being rather expensive, it just intimidates me how crazily people react to it, and suddenly you're automatically a "druglord". I understand where people are coming from, but it just stinks. How does one find the boundaries of acceptable chemistry for fun?
