Been thinking for you brother, if you can design and install some air fins or paddles that can move air onto the rim while it’s spinning this could cool the batteries a lot better than the holes in the shell, I believe this will work, Isreal H.

Jack from King Song said Commander's CEO designs the light not to blind the incoming riders. However, it failed to have enough light for your ride, which render the light useless at night. Also heard that the breaking is not as good on hard compared to medium mode.
@ElectricUnicycles3 жыл бұрын
My experience with breaking, in hard mode, is great. Certainly better than the Sherman.

@@ElectricUnicycles Also, you can improve 5x air flow upon your design by constriction airflow. Just glue a small tube at the end of your larger air intake, which is your half a circle design. Here is a math to prove it. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fqPOooqCbrZsopY

Hi Marty, i stay here in Covina and moving to Glendora pretty soon. I also intend to buy 2 of these commanders for me and my brother as upgrades to our 16S and 18XL just as soon. We've rode up into the mountains as far as those wheels would take us, granted its not that far, but we've taken multiple paths. Including GMR, Big Dalton and San Gabriel Canyon road (&afew others further east. Also Mt Baldy! From Claremonts base of the mountain; on the 16S!)Sorry for the long winded comment. I just wanted to ask where this video took place, as i didnt recognize that beautiful road at the start of this video. Thanks for all the great content!
@ElectricUnicycles9 ай бұрын
That's Hwy 39. The ride starts at Encanto Park.
@vinnyqm9 ай бұрын
Sorry Marty but while you're here, I guess the more important question I should ask is if this wheel is better now than it was 2 years ago. .? Disregarding the fact that suspension wheels exist; Have most of the problems of the past been resolved through the lense of EWheels and their products . You know.. since I'ma buy 2 of them 😅 combined for $5000! Seems an incredible deal.
@ElectricUnicycles9 ай бұрын
@@vinnyqm Still a solid wheel, but overheating was not resolved. I can't recommend the wheel in 2024 but it looks like you know what you're getting into 🙂

I bought a V11 about a month ago, and I pre-ordered a Sherman yesterday lol. I was comparing the Commander to the Sherman when I saw this video, but the price of the Commander made my jaw drop. Just got into this hobby and I've watched almost all of your videos Marty, great content!
@ElectricUnicycles3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the compliment. I think the Commander isn't much more expensive than the Sherman (mostly due to the bigger battery pack). If you don't need the larger range (see upcoming video) and are trying to economize, the Sherman is hard to beat.

Great video again, Marty. Enjoy the views and your comments. And what a great range! Seems the wheel still lacks some final touch to claim a similar position as Sherman has in the minds of the riders. Will it ever be? Or Begode quickly launches the next model... again.
@ElectricUnicycles3 жыл бұрын
It's hard to beat the reputation of the Sherman, but this is a very comparable wheel and certainly better if you want the extreme range.

Oh yes the wind sucks. Wind really effects your riding. Enjoyed your video as usual. Looks like a good wheel. I’m torn between the commander or abrams. I mainly ride flat, bike paths, parks a little off road. Not crazy about street riding, had a couple close calls.
@ElectricUnicycles3 жыл бұрын
If you don't need the extreme range of the Commander you have many more options for a new wheel.

I do wonder what's plan B if you run outta juice or blow a tire in the middle of nowhere hill. I would absolutely have anxiety attacks just thinking about it. O btw I saw somewhere that the factory Sherman seat fits perfectly & will hold in place with some velcro. Far's lights go, I always carry & use a flashlight as the main night light, regardless of whichever wheel I ride with however good headlights. I use a Thrunite TC20 which pumps out ~2k lumens for >2hrs. Its as bright as an auto headlight.
@ElectricUnicycles3 жыл бұрын
Plan B is to walk. I also carry a very large trash bag with me that I can potentially stick the wheel in so I can come back to pick it up on another day. I also carry powerful lights with me when I'm planning to ride at night, but sometimes advanced planning doesn't work. Having a powerful headlamp is very useful in many of my wheels. Just not this one or the Monster Pro.
@ElectricUnicycles3 жыл бұрын
The Sherman seat does kind of fits, but still sucks compared to the aftermarket seats that are available.

You always need to carry some slime for the tube with you... in case of flats, and a pump... now if the motor or the motherboard fails... its another story.... you just hide the wheel, like Marty says, and go on your trusting feet to cover the distance back. And always have plenty of water with you.
