Before euc riders, we had PC gamers who ran into the same exact issue, PC boards running extremely hot.. more specifically, the CPU.. one of the most popular mods to this day, is liquid cooling to replace inefficient fans..

Maybe you should try to detach not only the headlight but also the speakers? It can increase the airflow.

They really need a larger and better engineered surface area to collect more air in and funnel it to the motherboard. Having some exhaust fans, at the other end, blowing out hot air from the inside would help, too! The fans would create a small negative pressure gradient to draw more air in.

Hello Marty. The fact that the rear part with the speakers was still there shouldn't make that much of a difference. You were going at a decent speed, enough to harvest a big amount of air and pressurize/push it along the tunnel and finally spit it out through the already modified exhaust. And your own MP24 experience proved it. By doing your on the field mod, I think you've discovered an engineering issue: that of poor thermal conductivity between the hot and the cold part of the system. In other words, if more airflow didn't get the system rid of more heat, means the airflow didn't have access to that heat. The heat is kinda trapped inside due to whatever design/engineering error, the are many possibilities. It's only a logical assumption, I haven't seen their design. But I might be right, and if so, EB need to do their homework ASAP. Thank you for your work and keep it going 👍

Would love to see you stick a custom heatsink in one of these Begode wheels.
@russellzauner3 жыл бұрын
small bit of 3D printed intake ductwork and a small fan for those slow steep ones. Heck, you could use a PC liquid cooling system with two exchangers and as long as the airflow is good then your heatsink will do WONDERFULLY. Make sure to block where mud can get in so you can keep things chill - mud kills airflow and heatsink won't do much otherwise - gotta force the air to flow over something in an enclosure that was made to shed air, water, etc elements. If drilling a few holes and putting an intake on it might work, then I bet people would buy that as an aftermarket kit or I'd at least throw the plans up on thingverse to print such. If worse come to worse you could remove the heat from the cooling system with a Peltier/TG/TE chiller. Maybe airflow is enough but remember how many people had to rebuild their XBOX360 to put the right thermal management, as opposed to what it shipped with, in a product they *knew* was gonna get hot already.

Just a thought but how about aftrmkt fan (or dual fans using high CFM fans eg. Noctua) mod. "Wheelerspro" did a vid on this mod plus a few other waterproof mods on the M24pro (or maybe RS I forgot). The Noctua fans he used blew a lot more CFM with the bonus of being much quieter as well. I think the aftrmkt fan/s with some rear (or perhaps side inlets for bernoulli's effect) should help lots. Ofcos these are things GW shoulda done but it's GW afterall. It would be much better if GW puts out some disclaimers for its buyers to do mods if they lived/ride in hot temps. Again its GW so if we wanna ride their wheels, there's always gonna be more work involved. Great for tinkerers but not so much for most of us.
@7belair3 жыл бұрын
Burning hot wheel. :) It's not summertime, one can expect more problems for summer. As you put it - Gw does not put any real thought into this. I think whatever the "surgery" you or any rider must undertake to make this wheel run cool proves the point. Not commercially ready yet.

When they leaked the Hero is using similar suspension to the S18 it turned in to a *real* hard sell very quickly - I'm not rich and I'm lucky I can even buy one, so I went with the S20. Even if there ends up being a difference only in preference later, it immediately forced a "last generation" vibe onto the market. But for my needs (I gave up my road bike after getting hit the second time, and I'm selling my built out RM250 to help fund this) suspension travel and ground clearance are paramount - I'm riding trails in Oregon and getting a ride to the drop zones/camp. :-) This will free up several cubic feet of space in my camping trailer where the dirtbike(s) used to be carried.

Considering the cost of this unit, Begode really dropped the ball on this issue.. a massive heatsink will certainly conduct heat very efficiently, but the heat still needs to be removed from the shell.. A liquid cooling system will effectively pump the heat to a radiator exposed to the outside air rushing by, same as liquid cooled engines which have by and large replaced air-cooled engines, for good reason.
