Wallpaper Tip: Before putting holes in wallpaper to hang anything, first cut a small v-shape flap in the paper with exacto knife where the nail will be placed and fold back the wallpaper BEFORE you nail anything. If you want to move or remove anything, you can just use a dot of glue and push that triangle piece back on the wall and the hole disappears. I've used this for years and it works great!

Hi Lone Fox Family! We saw the video as soon as it was up but was not able to comment because of such a busy week for both Jennifer and I. The office turned out better than I could have ever imagined. I like to build model kits and wanted a bigger desk to do that and work/play on the computer. The dark colors are perfect, it reminds me of how dark I would have my room growing up while playing video games. This office means so much to me, and the couch + trundle (is that how it's spelled?) reminds me of how my brother and I shared a room growing up since we had the exact same setup in our room. Julia's room is just everything we could have ever hoped for, that wallpaper is so beautiful. We know she'll love that space as she grows up, and if she wants to change anything up then we can always just watch some Lone Fox videos for DIY inspiration! The dresser is actually a blessing for us because I put together the one we had before, but since it was my first time putting together such a big piece of furniture there were two drawers that were a bit crooked. I applied some DIY solutions to try and fix the issue but then we noticed the drawer was a bit damaged from our move from our old place to this forever home. Our master looks amazing! I actually don't mind the walls looking "pink." When Drew said he wanted to pair the room with a masculine rug, it actually made me feel even better about the space since this is the room that both my wife and I will share every day! Such a small detail that has a huge amount of thought put into it. Nightstands are beautiful and that chair in the corner will get a lot of mileage from me while I sit down and play video games or read comics in the evening! I'll definitely be using that chair as well for when I need a break from rocking Julia back to sleep at night, and holding her while sitting comfortably in our master. The bathrooms look amazing, I actually love the mirror. Since it's the guest bathroom it's something fun for them to experience while they do their business. Our master bathroom looks amazing. Thank you so much Drew for really listening to my request to build my wife a proper vanity! She totally deserves it, we've been together for ten years and I've seen her get ready on the floor of her apartment bedroom or in the kitchen. When we bought this home I specifically wanted to get it cause there was a space for her to get ready properly. The cement DIY on the countertops is such a wild transformation! It really elevates the original faux marble tops we used to have. Thank you Drew for all the thought and care you put into each one of our spaces!

Putting the wallpaper glues sided together is called booking. It gives the paper time to absorb the glue and relax. wallpaper can expand its width up to 1/4 inch when you wet it with water, for pre-pasted, or paste. Booking helps to avoid expansion on the wall, which can cause bubbling and wrinkles, because it allows the paper to fully expand before you hang it

booking also allows the glue to become a bit tacky so paper doesn't slide down the wall and it makes application to the wall easier as you keep the bottom half booked until you are ready to apply it.

Not sure if he has any babies or kids in his close family or friends but not being a parent himself I just find it so charming that he thinks of the baby sitting on the rug versus the hard floor, and in the living room he picked a round coffee table instead of rectangle so she doesn't bump her head ❤️

Drew I’ve noticed that you seem to use regular latex wall paint on doors, trim & cabinets; be careful with this as wall paint is not formulated to withstand lots of impact, and trim/doors might be painted with oil based paint depending on the age (which can’t be covered with water based paint unless a good primer is used first, otherwise the paint will peel). Usually you need to degrease/de gloss, scuff sand if possible, use a good bonding primer and then use an enamel or urethane paint specifically for cabinets/doors.
@mimijohnson77142 жыл бұрын
TIP: Anytime you remove trim always score the edge against the wall with a box cutter so that you don’t tear the drywall and have even more repairs to make to the wall beyond painting/wall papering, ect. Opinion: with a baby you have to consider everything, the use and colors of fabrics, is it super easy to clean? Can a bleach wipe easily clean it? If not you don’t want it anywhere a baby/toddler, small child will be. Is it something that a baby would grab easily? If so can they put it in their mouth or will it cause a choking hazard? So although the style can be off the chart’s aesthetically, practically has to come first. Not to be a Debby downer but safety and durability are even more important than design when small children are in the home.

It was to let natural light through for the toilet portion that didn’t have a window, but still allowed privacy. I was really wondering about this. With the open shelves, the toilet room is now open to the bedroom, right? My thought during that part of the video was what if someone is sick? Imagine having food poisoning without an air & sound barrier. No bueno. I’m married too but there are some aspects of life you just don’t share with anyone. Once when my first was a baby, we were on a family road trip and both of us wound up with food poisoning. We were so desperate for a hotel room that we paid way more than we typically would have. A very nice hotel to be sick in. The bathroom had a solid core door and was a good distance from the bed. Worked out well as we spent the first part of the evening playing pass the baby. We’d come out of the bathroom and grab the baby so the other one could use the facilities. But after the bad bit passed, we ended up having a very nice time in that hotel room. It took us like two extra days and like $500 more to get home because of the food poisoning, but we laugh about it to this day.

I loved the babies room. Wallpaper was adorable and the accent wood was lovely. The only thing is none of the accessories were baby friendly, they’d all have to be removed. When the baby starts crawling it could pull the plant over super dangerous. On top of the dresser you need a changing pad and something to hold diapers, creams, wipes and all. The office was a perfect work guest space. Also loved the dark green in the guest room. Looking forward to seeing more.

Moving right along with the patter ,music and multiples, you certainly got what you needed in this whole redo for the time given. So encouraging to the watcher to see it unfold but be given the sequence and techniques. And to see you try new stuff like the concrete topping.... Yes! Thank you.

I kind of liked the light colored blue walls better than the beige color, but everyone has their preferences.

That concrete counter top in the bathroom is a great idea. Would love a dark grey in the kitchen as those small tiles on the top are a haven for germs and hard to keep clean. Loving this whole house make over project 😍

i honestly dont know which room i love best ,they are all soo beautiful! Will you be doing the concrete look on the kitchen counters? i know you like the tile but the home owners didnt seem to care for them
@gaellewis2 жыл бұрын
Yes I recall them mentioning they didn't care for them too. It's not particularly user-friendly, ie, not easy to keep clean so I understand why the owner wasn't fond of it. Apart from the kitchen and bathroom tiled counters, I loved the other spaces.

I appreciate that you wear a mic, Drew! It's such a struggle to hear some KZbinrs; there's an echo, a tinny sound in their voice, and you just can't hear them. But you're a because you're thinking of us too!
