The majority of those working in constructions and other menial jobs are not Thai poeple, but are people from neighboring countries such as Myanmar. You simply ask them where they are from.

Good work shedding light on the side of the coin that is rarely viewed or discussed. It definitely puts things into perspective.

People are so poor but they always stay like they would if they were rich. They don’t let poverty stop them. Such kind caring people.

The people living in this camp are likely Cambodian or Burmese, who have left even worse poverty to work in Thailand and hopefully improve their lives.

Well that makes a lot of sense now, their Thai sounded a bit different. hope you enjoyed the video. Is this year a go to type of content? i’m considering trying to become a little more niche specific with my channel.

@@happy4ever305 Most of that comment didn’t make any sense but yeah I’m aware there aren’t any big slums there. By the way, the title of the video was “Labor Camp” because that’s was it was. Also nobody living there was from Myanmar or Laos. Thankyou for the comment tho 👍👋

This is the worker camp.The worker stayed until the project been complete and move the camp to another place. (I'M THAI AND I TRY TO EXPLAIN, HOPE YOU UNDERSTAND ME)

I understand you perfectly. I’m not sure if it was translated from Thai or you wrote everything in English but I spent about six months out there and learned around 200 words in Thai. Can’t wait to come back and visit again. I’m familiar with how the Worker camps operate, but I thought that would be a good title that would catch people‘s eye.

Are the owners locals or not?
@Travel_fulltime
@Travel_fulltime 2 жыл бұрын
Yes I’m pretty sure the owners are local. It’s not really like a factory type of camp it’s more of a place to get them cheap living and help them find work. Still pretty rough conditions though.

Yeah it’s really heartbreaking to see but when I go to places like this I have about the community a lot and I try to just give them cash in a hug but 90% of the time nobody will except the cash because everywhere you go people always try to be the giver and not the taker. Everywhere in Thailand the peoples mentality is very similar.. nobody wants to take a hand out without something in exchange. and a lot of the time when you try to tip they make it very clear that you pay too much and try to give you the correct change. Or sometimes they’re just confused because tipping it’s not very common in the Thai culture.

Good question, hopefully they’re not doing anything like Flocka, bath salts, or a crocodil. 😡😩 I was hanging out with some other guys at the labor camp, and they mentioned ice (as in crystal) and I got the idea like it was a common thing and they were pretty open about it. Besides that ecstasy, and ketamine are pretty popular. Good stuff too lol. Kratom is definitely everywhere and easy to get. And Bettle nut is a big one almost everywhere in Southeast Asia. I don’t think the pharmaceutical problem with opiates n benzos is as bad as the US. They’re not exactly in the lead with medicine and research but there’s somebody whipping up there science experiment pills. Whatever Big Thai Pharma is selling just might kill ya faster than whatever is on the street. I think weed n Keatom leaf is legal now. Why can’t people just be happy with a beer n a hooker?😩

@Travel_fulltime
@Travel_fulltime 2 жыл бұрын
I’m not 100% sure but that’s what I heard also. There might be some gray areas. it definitely isn’t the same type of legal that it is in California. I think there’s a bit more regulation with selling it in shops and permits and stuff like that. And the laws with growing also I bet are much different. But that’s just what’s written in the laws so after all it doesn’t really mean much if you’re in Thailand. just like most Third World countries all you need is the right amount of cash to pay off the cops haha
