Your explanation of how and why you do the cutting out step by step is spot on. Many people would cut it all out blindly and then scratch their head trying to figure out how to get it back together, so a logical explanation should help clear it up for a few people if they listen. I am sure with your bodywork skills you can make the patch panels look every bit as good as a whole new floor panel. This said these people that just cut out everything and replace it don't end up with the original vehicle. Why not buy a new body shell?. Back in 1992 I restored a 65 Mustang and used Waxoyl to protect it. I flooded every box section and also drilled many drain holes to prevent water staying in the structure. Its now 30 years later and this year I have had to go over a few areas and re-do some stuff, so you are bang on with the 30 year life between "restorations"

Great job, considering how rotten this truck was, you should be proud of saving a classic truck to pass on to someone else and lets get your channel more subscribers, good luck

Man this thing is even rustier than my 62 was. Fun watching someone else sort out the aftermarket patch panels instead of me. Especially someone who is good at it. Nice work, again!

Haha yeah it's always more fun watching someone else suffer, especially if you've already been there and done that. I love the 60-63 trucks

Another great video on how to bring an old rust bucket back and save some history. Kyle, you are a true master at what you do and it makes us untalented people feel like we could tackle the projects you undertake but sadly know we are lacking. Keep it up and I hope to see 100,000 subs soon. You deserve it.

Well yer doing something right--you started with thin air and a pile of rust dust and now there is solid tin in its place. Visibilty was improved when the coat quit smokin. If you keep this up you will have a solid truck in yer garage.

Love the way you fixed it…..many ways to fix rust! No two trucks are alike, heck most times these old girl didn’t match side to side when the General welded them up. This was a great example of a good fix. Good Job !

I started repairing a pickup box for a guy the other day. The more rust i fixed the more rust i found. It finally got to the point that I told him that I was wasting his money and my time working on his box. It needs new box sides to make it right. I feel bad for the guy unfortunately all the rust was hiding under the paint surface and not visible until it was prepped for paint.
