2012 Chevy Volt Headlight Replacement - DIY Tutorial

Here's a quick DIY tutorial on how to replace the halogen headlights in just about any late model vehicle, however this is shown on a 2012 Chevy Volt. Here's a link to buy the bulbs for a good price: amzn.to/2DpTcn7

Your video was very entertaining! However, it would be much easier to replace the passenger side bulb if you loosen the air filter box which is attached with a couple of rubber grommets. Then just snap it back in when done.

Excellent video. Good camera work. Thanks for the guide, helped me a lot to change the bulbs in my European Chevy Volt (= Opel Ampera). Looked exactly like in the video, no difference between Volt and Ampera regarding the headlight change procedure (the cars are mostly identical but not 100% identical so I was not sure beforehand).

Good camera angle but you can't actually see the innards that well using your eyes! It does help to loosen and remove the air cleaner lid as I have huge hands.

I swear on my car the thing was placed in such a difficult position and the freaking cap was so hard to put back on. Also had the same issue where I had to plug it in first and then insert the bulb. Great tutorial ! That's some evergreen content !

Mine looks nothing like that. My 2012 volt has way more cords going into the headlamp socket. The bulb inside looks nothing like that. I have to disconnect a plug to put that one in and just leave the old bulb hanging outside the bulb chamber. Can’t remove it. Do you know why this is?
