I've used to have discussions with creationists and unfortunately, you're wrong. I stopped having those discussions because even when the creationists said they understood why their argument was wrong and how evolution is not just a scientific theory but also a fact you could see them making the "if we come from monkeys why are there still monkeys" with someone else. They don't listen, they don't WANT to understand. They have their "truth" and will ignore anything contrary to that. You can't fix wilful ignorance, it's wilful.

They cannot learn nor be educated in any shape or fashion because they will reject all knowledge and teachings that disagrees with their "truth". This is NOT exclusive to religious people either, I find that a LOT of 'muricans will outright reject reality if it means they have to admit they were wrong.

@OceanusHelios
@OceanusHelios 2 ай бұрын
@@WhoThisMonkey The fallacy is thinking it is a band wagon. The GOP operates based on loyalty, obedience and the current thing, which is the old thing. Mostly it operates on party loyalty and a singular set of messages. The DNC runs on things like experience, and proven qualifications and with the most benefit for the most people, and not loyalty or toeing the party line. Speak to different democrats and get to know us. What is presented on the Networks is NOT the party line. We all have varying viewpoings, worldviews and varying opinions from each other within the DNC. We have different styles and approaches. We operate on principles. The RNC runs on values. They value their property and want your property to be theirs too and want to tell you what you can do with your property and what to think. The DNC cares about long term success not a quick buck like the RNC. The RNC raids. The DNC uses coalitions and operates on a set of principles that are based on what will and won't work. Your statement doesn't say as much about us as it does about you.

Sounds like Dunning Kruger: The more ignorant you are, the more sure you feel you know everything and have an answer to everything. That's why they feel so certain and smug. At the same time, the more you learn the more you realise there is a vast amount of things you don't know and that sometimes saying "I don't know" or "I'm not sure" is the only way to be honest. Interestingly, I recently read a letter written by Pliny the younger. He addressed the letter to someone named "Sura" in which he is asks if Sura believes ghosts are real. He explains that he was convinced of the existence ghosts via an eye witness testimonies. Now Pliny wasn't a dumb guy, in fact iirc he was an educated man, but even HE was convinced because he heard stories. Not because he investigated them, or believed he experienced them first hand, because he heard stories. Now how to apply that to the gospels I wonder?🤔 It's crazy to me that people don't understand that sometimes people are just gullible or naive, whether they are educated or not. People are more willing to believe fantastic unsupported stories if someone is passionate about it, if it's someone they know, or if it's from a respected or educated person or leader. This is basic human psychology.
