Cutting dry timber is easy for any saw or chainsaw. But how does it cut freshly felled and wet oak and birch?
@TechIllusion-EN4 ай бұрын
@sp33dou I actually remember it the other way around. When the wood is completely dry, it is much more difficult for the chainsaw to cut through the material. Fresh wood is easier to saw... Best regards

@@TechIllusion-EN That could well be true, didn't even think of it. Maybe it varies by the chain / saw blade that is being used? Was just processing some wood in to firewood and dry wood was so much easier with hand saw, axe and hydraulic press.
@TechIllusion-EN4 ай бұрын
@sp33dou Yes well, that's true again! When the wood is dry, it's easy to split with an axe. But I remember it the other way round with the chainsaw! It's quite possible that there are different chains....🤔 Best wishes

I bought three 9 Ah batteries for this saw. If the battery starts to get too hot, I can easily change another battery to the saw.

Thank you for your feedback! 😊 👍🏽 This is really good if you have the option of swapping between 3 such large batteries. Best regards

good and smart move.

@@TechIllusion-EN Actually, the FlexVolt 9.0Ah is 9Ah at 20V, but only 3Ah at 60V. The Husqvarna 9 Ah/40 V battery for the HUSQVARNA 540i XP chainsaw is more powerful, but also heavier and more expensive in the same proportion.

I don't know WHAT to think of this saw; because I haven't seen it run in a head to head comparison with other saws. The closest EGO would be the CS1804. It wouldn't be fair to pit the Dewalt against EGO's 20" saws; they would just embarrass the Dewalt
@TechIllusion-EN2 ай бұрын
@John-cj3ve Many thanks for the feedback and for the experience! Unfortunately, I can't say anything about the EGO chainsaw as I haven't had it in my hands yet! The Dewalt device has an impressive 3000 W. I can hardly imagine that cordless devices can offer more in this respect...🤔 Best regards

You should try the 15ah battery!
@TechIllusion-EN3 ай бұрын
@John-cj3ve that would definitely be very interesting to see how the chainsaw performs with this large battery. 🤔 The only problem is that the battery is extremely expensive and also weighs a lot.... These are currently the largest batteries I own. Best regards

@TechIllusion-EN I used to run the biggest Stihl chainsaws in my younger years. Now I'm a hobbyist and have over a dozen battery operated chainsaws. I'm becoming more and more interested in THIS saw. I know it can't keep up with my EGO 20" saws; but their power comes with a weight penalty; and that's why I'm keen on this; and especially the Ryobi; as it appears to be the lightest 20" battery operated chainsaw on the market.

@John-cj3ve thanks for the reply! That sounds very interesting! :) I also think there are many powerful devices out there. It's just very convenient if it's also in the same ecosystem 👍🏼

It actually cuts quite slow compared to gasoline chainsaws at its price range...
@TechIllusion-EN5 ай бұрын
@Photo-ms1mo I have to say, this is one of the most powerful cordless chainsaws I have tested on my channel. Of course, compared to gasoline-powered devices, the battery-powered devices are certainly still somewhat more expensive. Best regards
