Timing is very crucial for policymakers, any wrong move can break the economy. And I think that Bank of Canada did the right thing by putting a pause on raising its key interest rate which is conditional on inflation going back to normal to see where the impact of raising the key interest rate from 0.25 to 4.50% is going to take them as It always take some time for things to go back to normal. what happened in last 12 months will show the results now. But I hope that everything go back to normal. Many people are in tough conditions as it is getting hard for them to afford monthly mortgage payments.

I don’t see a recovery until next year IMO. Economy is so fragile we all need to watch ourselves. BoC was too slow to raise the rates during COVID which led people to overbuying their domestic needs.

Deposit insurance should cover account holders within limits and payout within days. I'll be watching additional failures if any in the financial sector whether they be lenders or insurances. SVB not the only risk taker out there.
