I've seen my mother-in-law roll her eyes whilst I was talking. She thought I didn't see her lol. I saw my sister-in-law look at another person while I was talking and was mouthing something to her. I turned and looked at who she was mouthing to. They both had the guilty look. I don't go around either in law anymore after that and I feel much better for it.

Well, it sounds like you read the body language correctly. That rolling of the eyes is very contemptuous and contempt is hierarchal, which means they are devaluing you.

The eyes are by far the most interesting body parts in my opinion. They can reveal so many details of how a person is feeling or thinking. Thanks for the video!
@joenavarrobehaviorexpert2 ай бұрын
Well, if you enjoy the eyes, keep an eye on the feet, the feet can often reveal our emotions even more honestly than the face.

Amazing to have such detailed information on one part of the body! I remembered the ice pick story and told it to my friends and family. Also recently I had a Zoom call and was able to spot so much more nonverbal cues than previously!! Thank you, Mr. Navarro for making these great videos and taking the time to answer

Sir, today I started reading "What every Body is saying". And in the fist lesson I got to know that you are from Cuba and you were facing issues with speaking English language. I also wanted to improve my english. I face difficulties while speaking english, though I can read and write.
@joenavarrobehaviorexpert2 ай бұрын
Yes, I had many difficult difficulties. Learning English, I could never understand the difference between the color, yellow and the dessert Jell-O. I still struggle sometimes as I cannot differentiate certain sounds. I wish you well as you perfect your language skills.

Joe, your blink rate is thru the roof.

Yes, congratulations. You observed the obvious. My eyes are very sensitive to pollen. And actually blink rate doesn't mean that much absent some sort of stimulus.

As a person with Autism and Adhd, I would be toast if i was interrogated. I look furtive and shifty 😂. I have a combination of ..eyes all over the place or 'lights on noone at home'

People would soon assess your baseline behaviour.

I don't disagree with you, unfortunately, a lot of amateur interviewers would confuse your behaviors with something nefarious.

@@joenavarrobehaviorexpert agree. My eyes shift all the time so I can think what I'm saying or how to get the point across that I'm trying to. Scratch my face a lot or touch other body parts. Very odd behaviour but it's how I can have a conversation. I agree, a lessor professional or even anyone I converse with gets uneasy. Hard to keep relationships when you appear to be shifty. Do you cover This subject in your books? It's especially noticeable with ADD people and Autistic. Especially when you get older. Behaviours are more obvious.

Not sure what you have heard, but it is true that our eyes look different directions as we assess for things from the past or emotional things. But keep in mind that we all vary and where our eyes look as we process information. I have to look in different directions as I'm trying to find the best words to answer a question. In any case, please don't let anybody tell you that it is indicative of deception. It is not.

If they eyes never lie, how could I interpret the fact that more than often people wont make eye contact with me regardless if they know me or of me or not
@joenavarrobehaviorexpert3 күн бұрын
I contact has very little to do truth or lies. People don't make eye contact with you. You may wanna ask why
@damenkapric5862 ай бұрын
"The eyes, Chico, they never lie..." Not related to that: my Mum tells me that when I was a kiddo, when they would ask me how did I know who is boy or girl, man or woman, I would say "by their eyes". I wish I knew what I meant by that 🙂
@joenavarrobehaviorexpert2 ай бұрын
Not sure what you meant either, but if other people notice there must be something to it
