We really only play games where we can both be in the same plane/ship/tank/etc. Dog fights look more fun here than another 12 years grinding Arena Commander squad battle hoping Star Citizen will be a full game. It also looks like the copilot/Wizzo controls are more likely to consistently work in DCS…

Yep, that's what I do if I die early game. I find the guy who seems like they have the best skill of the group and I feed them the information they need to maintain awareness and do what they have to in order to win. Sometimes it works, sometimes there's just too many enemies all wanting a piece of him.

I'm a total noob and jester doesn't seem to get it, and it makes me sad every time hearing him cheerfully calling "ooh you got him now!" knowing very well I'm definitely not gettin' sh*t 😂 but even though his disappointment is immeasurable - he keeps spotting and cheering all the way down while we glide on empty tanks for the 9999th time and the baddie keeps circling us like a deek 😂😂

Yes the voice actor had good direction. There's a behind the scenes of Jester's VA talking about his Navy experience back in the day and how the director had him doing five or six takes to capture a full set of emotions. The files are in ogg and can be listened to freely.

@@SecuR0M I have heard similar things for rally games and the developers get the VA's to read out the pace notes in a motion rig on the exact same stage and get them to do multiple takes. So when they go over any jumps, bumps and corners etc the rig moves them around making it sound abit more dramatic when the codriver takes a short pause whilst being in the air and going over a big jump and going through corners being thrown around in the seat like they would in the real life thing. Also its good because they mix it up so every time you play that stage the voice lines will always be different as they code it to mix the different takes up with each other

In a military summer camp 25 years ago, my group of campers learned to fly fighters in simulators and went head to head with each other to see who was the best pilot/RIO crew in the group. I was in the control room acting as the RIO and when my Tomcat went head to head with an F-18, we pulled an aileron roll, came down over the top of the Hornet, and used our guns to shoot it down. We won the Top Gun plaque and patch that year.

This is how I wish war thunder acted. I hate that it makes you, 1 person, take on the jobs of 5 different people and no one gives you any information. Like if I’m flying a bomber and I happen to not be paying attention for a minute, if an enemy plane gets within a certain distance of me, one of my gunners should yell out that there is a plant and which direction it’s coming from. It’s very cool to see it happen in dcs.

Anyone else notice the spiderweb-like scratches on the glass? That’s crazing, it’s what happens to the layer of anti-glare from heat exposure to the sun. You’ll see that on regular eye glasses left in a hot car too long, cool detail!
