@m.hasler72635 ай бұрын
No the tomcat was designed as the first 4th gen fighter. It was made to outfly and outfight everything at the time. Just like the 54 was designed to kill everything from bombers to maneuvering fighters to sea skimming cruise missiles. This whole narrative that the tomcat was not a purpose built fighter started around the time of its retirement as justification to build less capable super hornets.
@LeoChen-v6z3 ай бұрын
The tomcat is cool but it has problems though! the reason why the US has to retire the tomcats was first of all their maintenance costs. Second of all they were a strictly air superiority fighter when used on carriers. And surrounding it would have to be the A7 and A6 strike fighters, the e-2 hawk eye, and the ea6b prowlers to accompany it, but with the f-18s, it is multirole aircraft and now the navy has also got the ea18g which can further enhance the carrier's capability with without having to carry so many different plane types.

That was insane and I can't believe you smaked a J-20 in the face using the kick ass F-14. Great Chinese engineering, lol. Go western tech. Love your channel bro.

The F-14 hasn't been upgraded. The J-20 is a 5th gen aircraft. Whether it's as good as this sim is something we don't really know.

There is no F-14D in DCS. Unfortunately. And the chances that we'll ever get one are slim.
@Leifthrasir5 ай бұрын
And probably never will. the F-14D specs are still classified by the U.S. government and will remain classified as long as Iran continues to fly F-14A's which could possibility be upgraded using the F-14D specs.
