Kind of a funny thing regarding the MSIP upgrades: MSIP I (for F-15A/B) was, by all accounts, terminated/cancelled due to the costs of upgrading ALL the older A/B models. It was instead decided that once the C/D models had been fully upgraded, they'd use whatever was left over to upgrade a few A/B models for the Air National Guard. The program itself was being done from 1983-1985 (or possibly a little earlier for the starting year). Prior to MSIP II, F-15s had to carry chaff bundles stuffed away under the airbrake, so they'd only have one shot to release chaff then begin jinking. The main idea back in the 70s was to take off, find target, lock target, shoot, then kill first, all before the enemy could (hence lack of countermeasures, as they were initially not needed or considered as being needed by the USAF). If I remember right, CM dispensers were initially meant only to be used on multi-role aircraft of that period, or any plane that would be facing the threat of SAMs (hence the Navy/Marines implementing CMs through the Shoehorn upgrades of the mid-late 60s).

something that I wish was included in the section about landing, is how fast you can go when landing without gear, because as silly as it is, belly landing is generally the best strategy if you want as fast a turnaround time as possible, and so as long as war thunder incentivizes it, I think including it is a good idea.

I am researching the F15c rn and for fuel I run 2 outer drop tanks and 20 mins of internal fuel, I binded the drop tank button so I just drop them when I get into combat

It seems there is a major oversight with the F-15C. If you compare it to the improved Baaz, you'll notice a huge gap in terms of flight performance, but it doesn't make much sense, since both have the same engine. Hopefully gaijin will fix this and the F-15C gets buffed.

Hello Tim! I hope you are doing better regarding your health! Cool vid, as usual! I'm honestly having troubles with the Fox-3 missiles, in my case, the Darter in the British grippen. Despite trying to flank and make side shots, i don't seem to able to hit the intended target, and got caught even in some FF event (yes, with the Darter, even though i was locking an enemy MIG-29) idk if someone else is having the same issues getting accustomed to the new missiles or if it's just skill issue from my part. It's a pretty good addition to game, everyone seems to get kills but me lol.

Some of the elitists will disagree with me on this, but the problems you described are more luck than "skill". After you fire off an active radar missile, you have no control over where it goes or what it does - if you fire it into a group of targets, just flip a coin which one it targets, and if friendlies are anywhere near it, theres a chance it goes terminal on them. I demonstrated this happening in my currently-current complete guide to air to air missiles in the ARH/Phoenix section.

I’ve been absolutely dominating with this thing. My lowest scoring matches I usually end with at least 2 kills. And in my best matches, I’m coming out with 7. The F-15 was already a great plane. But now with the amraam, and an HMD, it’s a monster. My fuel strategy is to take the two wing bound fuel tanks. 2 bags for a little over 20 minutes of fuel. So I can burn at 110% for a decent amount of time with no consequence. 20 minutes of internal fuel. And if I get into a dogfight before I run out of fuel in the bags I just dump them. Boom, now I’ve got optimal weight. Once the bags are gone I burn at 101% unless I’m dogfighting and I need that extra power to keep me competitive. Or I need to climb quickly.

How do you rapid swap between targets like that with the tws? My key binds never works and I don't know why, I have swap radar/irst target and then it never does anything when I actually ad anything when I use the key binds, it just stays on the first target EDIT: It's because I have manual targeting on. You can't auto swap if you have manual target enabled. Lame

About that "outstanding flight performance", I believe a more accurate representation of how the F-15C (or any plane) behaves in this department is to compare it to its peers. By that metric, the F-15C is about one of the WORST jets at top tier in this regard. At low speed it is very sluggish compared to something like a Mirage 2000 or even the old F-15A, at medium to high speed it is noticeably slower to turn the F-16s, Gripen, Mirage 2000 etc. In sustained rate fight, even the Su-27 and MiG-29 give it trouble, which should be really saying a lot. Now, don't get me wrong, it still has a lot of thrust and the handling is still decent, and with re worked multipathing and the strong missile kit, one could argue the sub-par flight performance, when compared to its peers, doesn't matter too much in air RB, BUT make no mistake, getting in an old-fashioned dogfight with just about any other top tier jet will get you killed while flying this plane. Great content otherwise, some might say this is a bit nit picky (and it sort of is), and the rest of the info in this video is to my knowledge, accurate and relevant to the current state of top tier air RB. Keep up the good work!

I try not to explicitly mention too many direct comparisons, because the snail messes around with the flight models so often, I'll just flooded with "actually...." comments six months later when they buff/nerf the aoa by half a degree or something.

I just felt like mentioning this because I see a lot of people in air RB flying this plane as if it was the old F-15A whenever a dogfight does happen, and it absolutely does not work. Like you said in a video on I think the MiG-29SMT, it's not bad, but it does warrant a change in how you fly, compared to the old plane.

My intended audience is "the average WT player", not another 10year WT veteran or someone with 6000 hours in DCS and 4 years in the air force flying F-16s. I go pretty far out of my way to keep things simple. Example, I tell people to just slow down if they can't turn at mach 1.infinity , instead of going into a 5 minute thing about corner speed and aoa degrees-per-second, so on and so on. This is to say nothing of how often the snail tweaks the flight models, so the more specific I get the sooner the info is outdated. Its a tightrope walk, to be sure.
