Here an interesting HUD Video inside of a F-16. You can "hear" the preassure and how much work it is to do such a demo like that.

that breathing and holding his breath is a technique they use to avoid blacking out

I saw this video a few times and it's not an air show, but a demo for USAF brass to show the handling and manuverability of the F-16A. This was during the final test phases of the Viper before being accepted into the air force inventory.

@kiashamed If what I know is correct, the Soviets were the first to use voice warnings, and were done as female because they would be easier to differentiate with the male chatter that would be about during combat. I think the Soviets also would specifically use female air controllers/radar attendants for the same purpose. Can't remember the source, but it makes sense. Wiki mentioned that monotonous male voices had a quicker response speed by pilots however.

Thanks for your comment. Are you sure you´re right? So this footage must be round about 30 years old?

is the heavy breathing the pilot trying to avoid blacking out or is he beating it in the cockpit?

Does the HUD ever crap out while flying?

the max G on the flight you can see down to the left, 8.1.. the speed in knots is in the left middle arrow, from, the altitude in feet aboce sea level is in the right arrow. The cross in the top is the guncross always pointing nose direction. the circle with the cross around it, moving around in the HUD is the real aircraft heading. the numbers 5-10-20-30 in the pitch-ladder is the degrees the nose is pointing. the boxed number on the bottom is the compass heading 0-360 degrees..

@mobius1aic Altitude. Bingo (low fuel). Pull up. Caution. IFF. The air force did countless research on what voice would be responded to the most, thus, bitchin' betty was born...
