After I created the video, we corrected the lock line logic. ONLY flight members should provide lock lines, not the player ownship. Also, to make more clear: RWS contacts are uncorrelated because they lack tracking precision, whereas TWS contacts are correlated because of much more precise tracking information. This also changed in the release version. Thanks

We have been having problems with Data link in f-16 Multiplayer. The data link works I can see friendly and then all of a sudden it all vanishes nothing touched yet it all goes away please tell me this is a bug?

I had also no idea what he meant with "must be french", but then I read the book "Viper Pilot: A Memoir Of Air Combat" written by former USAF Fighter Pilot Dan Hampton. I just think Cap also read this book before he made this "exceptionnel" tutorial... :) The quotes from the book: Page 54 in terms of Iraqi Air Defense: "One of the most dangerous systems was the ROLAND, which the French were good enough to sell to anybody with cash. The French have been lousy warriors since Napoleon died, but they did make good equipment." Page 137 im terms of Red Flag training @ Nellis: "All the NATO air forces attend if they can afford it, and occasionally you can see Israelis and some of the Arab nations, like Egypt or Morocco. Even the French show up occasionally, when they can find it." Page 145 in terms of an integrated Air Defense System called KARI: "There were several problems with this. we got the dotted lines to work by putting all the jets in the same flight.Enfield 1-1/1-2/1-3 etc.In mission editor we added f16 1 of 1 2 3 4 and it worked.

Trank you for this series. Probably the best out there. But I still have a problem with the data link. I can’t get any data picture on the HSD. I only see the waypoints and my radar range, that’s it. Even when I got a radar track it doesn’t appear on the HSD. I put on the switch on the right console and I thought that’s enough. Got any idea?

On the Hoggitworld page for the F-16 it says you can use the Communication Hat to transmit your current Air-to-Ground target over the datalink... has anyone been able to get this to work in the current build?

Well the problem is, that with datalink on, i can no longer distinguish between track target and system target, so when i'm in TWS and i'm selecting important targets, i cannot see which is already selected and which not. Frustrating. I always turn the datalink off for a fight.

@@dimitriskatsoulis4834 Depends on what the mission creator sets in the mission editor. There is an option "hide on MFD" for each unit. Once this is activated you wont see the specific unit on the HSD (or SA page in the Hornet). For air defense units, this means no threat ring will occur on your mfd.

You have to align your aircraft completely before you turn on mids. Once you turn on nav to norm, then turn on mids.. then on the right panel turn on xemit to L16 (link16) kzbin.info/www/bejne/r5-5pJ-sq8qbeJo this video should help with the alignment

Hey, i ahve problems setting up the DL on Servers when cold start. I just see my Waypoints but that was it, no hostile/friendly contacts, AWACS or SAMs... does anyone have an idea?

I still cant figure how to make it work! I do my start up like you, do the alignement, turn on the mids, setting the link 16 on my mfd and nothing... Iff work on my radar but I cant see anything on my hsd page but waypoint!

@@northman77 if you did a cold start, your IFF system needs to be turned on. the panel is on the left side aft of the throttle. I would need to look for the exact panel but that is a start. the power knob should be turned to on or norm. I havent tested this but if it is off you might look like a hostile to others. they will do a 'mode 4' interrogate but your system is off and wouldnt respond.

The only step I'm missing is, how to get it running in the first place on manual starting the F-16. In AutoStart Mode, it works all well when aligned about 62. Manual I even let it go down to 10 until RDY is flashing in the DED. I tried with DL and MIDS on before and after alignment, with no luck so far. Up in the air its only showing me my radar contacts. I think I miss an important switch or some order of operations wich is twisted. I don't know. :/

Hmm. I´m playing F-16 "The balkans campaing". There I have put on "unrestrictred satnav". The datalink "sync" is "fine". But those time settings are all on off, and not any time shown in there. Still it seems to be working. What does this mean. And what happens if I put i them on? (dont see any change, but I´m really a noob with what comes to f-16 itself so...) What does this mean? Is it just correlated to mission itself? (does btw that satnav include also datalink stuff?)

Using the word "angels" to describe altitude as often as you did here is pedantic. Using that word to describe the altitude of hostile aircraft is just plain wrong. 'Angels' is the brevity used to describe friendly aircraft.
