F/A-18 Super Hornet ("Rhino") Flight Demonstration - NAS Oceana Air Show 2020

Pilot Lt Kieran "ZERO" Sexton weapons systems officer and Lt Matthew "SYNDROME" Lindeman put the F/A-18 Super Hornet ("Rhino") through its paces at the 2020 NAS Oceana Airshow. NAS Oceana in Virginia Beach, VA is a master jet base and boasts the most F-18s of any base in the World. The Rhino Demo Team is part of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 106, nicknamed "Gladiators."
The USN Blue Angels will begin flying the Super Hornet for the 2021 air show season.

The "Rhino's" main predators will be the Chengdu J-10, Chengdu J-21, Shenyang J-11, J-15 and J-16. There are not enough Raptors to cover Super Hornet Squadrons. The air war will come down to Super Hornets & F-35s against everything the Chinese can throw at them.

Very nice aircraft, but just like the majority of naval aviators that took a survey ten years ago, give me an F-14D ALL DAY. This is a downgrade.

The F-14 is outdated and is limited to only 6G’s.

@@UnforgivingDemon , you are incorrect, Dale Snodgrass took that bird to 10 Gs and I have seen HUD footage of a 14B going 10.5 GS real-time. Dale further stated that the 14B was a 12g aircraft. All you have to do was throw Super Hornet or F-35 avionics in it and that beast would be the most feared aircraft in the world... AGAIN.

@@jonn443 It’s a 6.5g limited aircraft, even less when loaded munitions on board. Modern avionics won’t change the fact that the F-14 is outdated.

@@jonn443 Even making an F-14 pulling 11g’s would put severe damage on the airframe from over G’ing causing damage and requiring intensive maintenance.
