The 2006 F1 season was the first season of the V8 era. All teams used a V8 engine apart from Toro Rosso, which used a rev limited V10 engine becaused they failed to negotiate an engine contract in time. I watched F1 from 2005-2009 took a break from 2010-2013 and started watching again in 2014. I was born in '99 so I have fond memeries of these cars. I loved playing F1 2005 and F1 2006 on my PSP. Great Series! Keep going!

Ben for Q3 you should go out straight way & just driver around for 15 mins burning off fuel, then come in & change tyres so you can do a quick lap right at the end on as low as possible fuel, that's what teams did in 2006 & yes it was as bad as it sounds.

IMPORTANT ADVICE you have to brake really hard during the formation lap and when braking hard turn the wheels right and left in order to warm the tyres. By doing this you will have worn tyres and incredible start to race. And dont make too much gap between you and back so your tyres wont be cold when race start.

Undercut is not effective because you have many fuels after the stop. So staying out more is better considering that there is not a thing such big tire ware these days, especially if you use hard tires.

Great win mate, well done! Although this was quite lucky. Schumacher retiring is a rare occurrence in this game, believe me. And Montoya must have had a problem. They don't do 2-stoppers in these short races. I've never seen it anyway. Also, you can just put in as many hot laps as you like during qualli. You don't need to do a cooling down lap or go into the pits after every hot lap. I noticed you going off the gas a couple of times after setting a time. Silverstone is next. Keep up the good work!

Ben, if you didn't know, the career mode lasts five years, so if you still have the interest you could keep on going with all those years, or switch up the difficulty after the first season and start all over. It's a real challenge through the first season and try to win the championship later on.

Well, although this game released in 2006, in terms of content is A LOT , A LOT better than the latest F1 games....Codemasters if you read this comment, please introduce some features of this game. (such as formation lap, engine failures, classic cars, etc)

+Master JB I've been playing F1 2015 since its release and I've seen only two engine failures... These two cars just stopped by the track and in a few seconds they disappeared. As simple as that!

Try for a no-stop! Fill the car up to the brim and try out some lift-and-coast. The tyre wear will make it tricky, but defensive driving isn't too tricky on this game, especially on tighter circuits. 20% is the perfect distance to do this

From experience, you'll lose some (lots) pace, but you'll retain enough control of your car to keep others behind. I stumbled on it as a strategy when I was doing a career for Super Aguri and wanted to try something different.
