@@Route765 Haha! The real F1 drivers said that in F1 2019 the medium TC felt more like a real car, so they OBVIOUSLY took that feedback for granted. Another thing is, codies F1 sims have always had a very heavy feeling in the cars in slow speed corners compared to real F1. Real cars carry much more momentum into slow speed corners, and this year they made it more realistic. Loving the new handling
@Hyperezil4 жыл бұрын
Couldn't agree more, I've racked up hundreds of hours on each F1 game apart from F1 2019 where I managed 20 hours. The handling for me in 2019 just seemed far too unnatural, far too easy to lock up, way too much under steer and then when you resolve the under steer issue you ended up with uncontrollable mid corner over steer. Jumped onto 2020 on release and was absolutely blown away at how good the handling model is on this. I feel like in 2020 you can really push the car to its absolute limits and if you over step the mark it's fairly easy to correct it but not too easy where it's unrealistic, the braking as well it just perfect.
@FernandoFernandesJr4 жыл бұрын
This is the biggest fault of F1 games compared to other sims is that the only oversteer simulation is power oversteer. On pretty much every other situation over the limit all you get is understeer. There's never corner-entry oversteer, no matter the setup or how bad you try to throw the car. You can get in too hot in a corner, turn sharply and going hard on the breaks and you all you get is understeer. Gran Turismo is somewhat similar, and I would guess it's related to the games being built primarily for gamepads where it's hard to be smooth on the steering so they can't penalize that. I was hoping that in F1 2020 this simplification would be limited to the 'casual handling mode', but unfortunately it still happens on the 'standard mode'.

Yeah, I really like ACC and it does it really well. Actually most Sims get that right. The original Asseto Corsa also does, and even Project CARS 2 has it as well. Heck, even something supposedly more arcade-y like the latest GRID does corner-entry oversteer surprisingly better than the F1 series, and it's from the same developers!

F1 2019: -Lack of grip & downforce (up to -30%, compared to how the real life car performance was supposed to be) -Understeer festival -Terrible Weight Transfer -Bad traction & braking F1 2020 fixed all of that and made the cars feel right, though the cars could get a bit more mechanical grip.
@wolfboy204 жыл бұрын

@Moonshine11474 жыл бұрын
@@wolfboy20 Yes. There was even a thread on the official Codemasters forum, where some guy went into detail about each track on how the cars were performing compared to reality. In the worst case scenario the cars were down on downforce and grip levels up to -30%. Codemasters never gave a honest answer to that thread and only stated that they will not fix the car performance during the lifetime of F1 2019. F1 2020 has fixed those issues, now the cars are planted, extremely stable, have correct downforce and grip levels, but are lacking a tiny bit in mechanical grip (which can be felt in low speed corners). The idea that a sim must be “accessible” at the cost of realism makes no sense at all. There is no reason why you cannot make the best possible physics engine there is and introduce driving aids to make that accessible. This is not that unfortunately. This notion that it needs to be in the middle of road between game and sim is just an excuse not to build a new physics engine that is accurate. It’s been 10 years now and still the track surfacing is static with no real bumps that destabilise a car to force you to compromise the setup for. Tracks still have this bizarre warping undulations where cars float over with zero physical reaction. This is cartoon physics.
