A good mechanic! He says it short and smart to diagnose this noise is one of the pulley-driven parts. (Not a main bearing, camshaft etc.)

Yes if a belt is dry rotted or has got enough oil on it to be stretched out your belt can also make a screeching noise..

It's the water pump the pulley is pressed on the water pump and can't be removed..
