F1 Ranking - Total Number of Grands Prix without Scoring Points

Interesting data, dudes, full of surprises! - 5 out of the "top" 6 are Italians! - and they all finished between ca. 70 - 90% (de Cesaris) of their races without any points - Highest percentage of races without points: Ghinzani 99%! ... and guess where he is from?! - Double WDC Graham Hill finished 67% of all his races outside of the points! + 1x Nigel Mansell 55% + 3x Nelson Piquet 50% 1x Jenson Button + 1x Kimi Räikönnen 35% 2x Fernando Alonso.

It's amazing to see so many notable drivers near the top of the list. As cutthroat as F1 is, those drivers must have offered something of great value to be allowed to continue driving for hundreds of races.

I’d love to see this adjusted for the modern points scoring as I think it would be a more interesting like for like comparison (or as like for like as things can be when comparing from different eras)… anyway - thanks for another data delve… love them

This is going by the official points system so it is unfavourable for older drivers since 7th was out of the points. Of course this is one list you really can't use today's system with since that would be claiming someone who clearly finished outside the points did in fact finish in them. Using today's system would instead simply be most finishes outside the top 10.

True, but it would probably worth looking at that as well. It's difficult to compare different eras of F1 when so many elements change significantly over the years.

I agree, you can never get a 100% fair comparison between then and now, it would need to be two separate videos, but back then there were more cars in each race, so that's a double negative for drivers back then, but yet again points down to tenth place is a relatively recent rule in F1 history terms, so that would mean yet another video needing doing 😂 it's a matter of where do you draw the line, hats off to these people who compile all of this data and put together these riveting videos for everyone to see and be heartily impressed by 🎉

At the bottom of the list there are so many drivers with a single loss but it's 100% of their F1 career. Being mostly American drivers, I would guess they each participated in the Indy 500 back when it was included in the F1 championship.

Would it be possible to have this list but ordered on % of races they raced? I mean, someone who has not scored a point in their career (and I'll give leeway to the concept of at least doing a full season) has had a worse career than for instance Rubens Barichello who was ... high on this list ;) Some are also interesting to know if they scored a point and were persistent... or gave up!

oh btw, the list in a webpage would be fine as well... not always needed to re-render things. I like how you guys keep finding interesting lists and ways to present the data. Makes even the Mercedes engine era fun to check out.
